Also, when you said we can find out the user
Who posted the pop up box. What if we say their
Name when we file the report? Isn't that considered name
Dropping, or is that just when someone says someone
Else's name in the forums when they have been hacked?

Because I have specifly named users who have hacked
Me in the past when I filed my report. That wouldn't be considered
Name dropping would it? D:

Since you're reporting the user, it isn't considered name-dropping, since mods get the offender's name in the report when you submit it. As long as you aren't creating threads everywhere to warn other users of the phisher, you'll be fine. 3nodding Just report and move on and they'll be handled.

Please remove the link from your post, just to prevent people from going there. sweatdrop
Also, report the content that contains that link where the person told you to click it to get the gold. Report it as password phishing, as that is evidence enough to show they're trying to hack accounts.

There's usually some sort of indications you can look for:

• Inability to log into account due to wrong password and/or username
  
• Your username has been changed
  
• E-mail address attached to your account has been changed
  
• Items/Gold/Gaia Cash have gone missing
  
• Posts that you didn't make
  
• Friends list has been wiped clean
  
• Profile has been reset
  
• Avatar has been changed

Those are some of the typical signs an account has been hacked. Sometimes moderators can catch the hacker on your account and ban it to kick them out and they'll send an e-mail to you to let you know of the situation.

Um... how can you file a report if you no longer havve an account?
And what if you got banned for a good reson? can actual hackers recover their accounts?

People can make a secondary account (or use one that they already have) to file the report. If the user really was hacked and the account was banned due to the hackers actions, then the person who got hacked can file the report and there would be sufficient evidence that the account was hacked. It is unlikely that a hacker can recover accounts, as they aren't the original owners of the account and there would be evidence of the hacking.
