Alright here's another update (I have no idea if I did my math wrong last update or I really dug up this much stuff)

Added:
Official Colors: 45
Unofficial Colors: 47
User Colors: 57

Official Schemes: 42
Unofficial Schemes: 36
User Schemes: 63

Blame blues for the color count explosion, y'all really like your blues. Hopefully I can eventually condense them a bit

I've also fixed up the formatting a bit more for consistency. There may be some spacing issues still be the colors should now have the same name format throughout as well as naming style.

I'm going to take a break to update other projects for a bit, I have most normal schemes and it's the very multicolor ones left at this point. I did find a few hex values that were off so tell me if you find anymore

Wow, this guide has been incredibly helpful, especially since I came back from a hiatus some time ago with absolutely No Clue what most schemes are. Thank you for making this!

I wanted to ask your opinion on the two different shades of Mulberry in Fafnir.

You list one of them: ███ (hex #84639f)
But the other recurring shade is: ███ (hex #532841)

This one I pulled from the hair in Greedy Fafnir, but I noticed a vast number of Fafnir items have a similar shade (which is why I separated the scheme out in the first place.) Is it worth listing both?

I'm glad it was helpful to someone~^.^~ I've been really worried it wouldn't be

Ah, yeah. A lot of schemes have multiple variations and shades which I haven't even really touched yet. It's definitely worth listing out all of them. You have three Fafnir colors listed out (at least?) in your thread right? I'll get them on the list to be added in with the next set of updates. Thank you for pulling the hex value! Things like that are super useful

No prob! I noticed your Biohazard looked excessively dark, when normally that scheme's been quite bright lately, and since I have some time this morning, I can grab some swatches for the blue/purple schemes for you.

Biohazard Magenta* ███ #b842db
Biohazard Plum ███ #8628a2
Biohazard Turquoise ███ #14cce7

*This is mostly on older items such as Biohazard Mine Mine Mine, Hazardous Don't Give A, Biohazard Sentinel of Light, etc.

Modern items are closer to the other swatches (Hazardous Demiccubus/Demiccuboss, Technique of Espionage, Chemical Death By Homework, etc)

Dupioni is wild, the only colors ever listed are offwhite/ivory, and 'fluorite' which is several different colors.

Fluorite Pink ███ #c689ff
Fluorite Purple ███ #9662ee
Fluorite Blue ███ #9deff1

Purple is mostly used as an outline and ombre into the blue, with Pink usually being separated out as an accent.

The Fafnirs are so inconsistent that I had to separate them. Plus there are a lot of items, and I feared running out of room.

'Bold' I characterized by that rich mulberry, and almost always only has either tundra or checkmate blue, rarely both.

'Icy' uses the lighter mulberry for the most part, and the Tundra sometimes makes use of white as a highlight, which Bold rarely does.

Both 'subschemes' still show up in new recolors, but Bold less so. While some distinctions are clear, sometimes it's a judgement call, such as Arctic Necromansea, which utilizes color shades of both (I put it under Icy ultimately, since the tundra was more often light/bright.)

'Blueberry/Old' is almost a prototype of Thumbelina, using eerily similar shades of color, but was nice and consistent during its short life.

Old Fafnir Purple ███ #59288e
Old Fafnir Blue ███ #91e2f5

Hope you don't mind the double post/bump. I intended to add Galaxy/Comet to the list but I know that's a scheme that merits its own thread for a full color scheme breakdown. And what a mess of a breakdown it is!

TL;DR version:

1. There are about 5 main colors within the Galaxy/Comet. Galaxy Pink (#e6a2ef), Galaxy Purple (#b36adb), Tanzanite (#5159d9), Lapis Blue (#314bf4), and Azure Blue (#1accf4).

Galaxy Purple appears to vary the most with exact hue and brightness, but it's difficult to tell what's a part of the ombre and what's not, so I grabbed the closest and most consistent hue.

2. The main distinction between 'Old Galaxy' (Galaxy Pink and Tanzanite, with the occasional Plum) and 'Old Comet' (Jet/Black, Azure Blue, Galaxy Pink) from their modern versions are the presence of Galaxy Pink. Modern recolors rarely use Galaxy Pink anymore, and are more inclined towards Galaxy Purple, and Azure and Lapis Blue.

3. For certain color combinations, Gaia makes no distinction between Comet and Galaxy, or at the very least, does not consistently tag either scheme.

Comet is consistently Galaxy Pink, Azure Blue, and either Tanzanite or Lapis Blue. However, exchanging Galaxy Pink for Purple makes it a toss-up. Cosmic Diamond of the First Water and Cosmic Rabbitually Late are both tagged 'Comet' but Galaxy Sky Terrarium and Twilight Sleeping Willow are not, despite both using the exact same colors.

Ultimately I think it's pointless for the distinction to be made (in reference to the G. Purple/Azure/Lapis combination), at least until Gaia has made up its mind about the scheme.

This thread is a blessing to returning users ;w;

Back In My Day we only named colours after the items they appeared on, and many items either did their own weird thing that was hard to match (like the really old pre-2007 items) or they had extremely basic and flat colours (the super saturated era of 2012).

Finding items that actually match is so much easier now that there are proper hue names to search for. I've been using this guide to (attempt to) discern which types of blue or green are in my old favourite items, since those aren't tagged properly (yet).

Thank you for your hard work!

Anyways moved ombres into their own color category. Moved some schemes around. Marked several more as having been adopted (at least 1 gaia made item or placed in a dye ticket). Still plenty more updates to be made

Jaded Archivist

Fixed Anko/Akio to be correctly Mute/Helio and updated those colors
Changed Deathly user scheme name to Gasoline and updated those colors
Updated Waffles a bit too, though not happy with it

Removed "Ombre" from the end of Ombre and Hue Shift colors

Updated several user schemes to be noted as adopted

Also I'm looking for anyone willing to confirm their custom colors, name their custom colors, or to point me in the direction of threads which have info on any schemes but especially user schemes. I've already got a few saved and may be reaching out to users if they are willing to answer my questions
