What's considered "rare" now?

tl;dr-Does it cost money? Does it cost FOMO? Does it involve lootboxes? If it's a combination of at least two of those things, it's high quality.

I'm going to break down in tiers as much as possible.

2003 - 2005 items, anything from here that's from Gaia's humble beginnings where you once had to send them money through mail for a premium item are sought for. Typically become rarer and rarer by year.

2006 - 2010 items, anything from here that's from Gaia's boom period with the introduction of Gaia Cash, having a theater, doing all of these deals with studios .etc. Some items here are plain rare but same level, they can be harder to get depending on what you're after.

2013 - 2017 items, anything from the Dark Period/Fall of Gaia Online period. Items from here are typically dirt cheap but can be uncommon, again, depends what it is.

2017 - Present items, anything from the Rebuilding Gaia period. Uncommon items, some uniques here and there.

maybe those singular items they had raffles for
i know theres at least one item considered lost that someone claims to own but there's no proof....i assume that'd be expensive

Brilliant Cabochomp is the holy grail of Lake Kindred and it falls into the first category. Usermade item that was almost completely undistributed so the only way to get it now is Perfect Parcel. I've been in that community a long time and have never seen anyone outside the person who made it own one.

Returning player here from 07-11, I'm loving a lot of the cosmetics given for free while browsing and just doing mini-games, though I'm curious what's now considered "rare" or a higher-demand item in comparison to common cosmetics that give just as much flair. The earlier days of Gaia was straightforward as far as Monthly Collectibles and Evolving Items go, but If I'm understanding right, they're no longer a thing? If I had to guess, there's items that are more valuable than others in the chance items? (In short, I don't know where to deposit my GCash since there's so many options now.)

Edit: As for your other question: Trends with premium items tend to change over time. Lately casual attire items released in La Victorie either for GCash or from chance items (RIGs) seem to be very popular. Back2k & it's recolor items in particular come to mind. But like with every item, just because it's popular now doesn't mean it will be later.

Well, certain flairs/gaiapledge are still rarer despite the abundance of it. I know a lot of users would not sell their animated flairs for a good price but luxurious platinum.
