I can't remember what their username was but I remember that their profile was completely interactive and it was a little game I got sucked into playing for about 15 minutes.

Otherwise I like the simple profiles, not the ******** of videos, random gifts, and pictures you have to scroll all the way down and to the side to see.

Thats about it, really.

I just use the boring classic town profile that Gaia provides. It does the job for me. I have a tiny bit about me, my doll photos and whatever song I am digging at the moment.

I check other profiles from time to time, especially if I am interested in their art or they just seem like a neat person. I can't say there is any one profile that sticks out in my mind. They all sort blend together after awhile.

I use to make custom profiles with CSS and my own arts and everything. But I get bored of the same thing and feel the need to change things often... and that is a LOT of work to rearrange art, make new art, and new CSS every time I get bored...

So I went simple after seeing someone else with just a simple profile that looked clean and nice and I was like "******** this complicated s**t I'm going basic." And it's been like that ever since. Now I just rearrange the boxes from time to time, add one of my art pieces to my About me section, and change the colors sometimes.

I don't think many people go to my profile anyway so the hard work was only worth it to me.

I do check profiles out though. It's fun and if they have a pretty avi or nice art, I like to see more of their stuff. Maybe they have more arts or maybe they have a gallery of all the avis they ever made. I came across a lot of nice music I never heard of before by visiting a profile. c:

Yes, I sometimes peek in profiles before accepting friendships also I do it when I found a cute avatar...Mostly of the cute, very original avatars directs to interesting profiles in my opinion.

Now for me, I just try to do something interesting with it...though I'm never satisfy and mostly because I'm still trying to understand the CSS.

Sometimes I'll look at another users profile. It makes me think: if their avatar is that interesting, then perhaps their profile is, too.

It amazes me how much time and effort some users put into making their profiles look spectacular, with CSS and things like that.

The most I'll do for my profile is put a simple, non-cluttered background with a few graphics here and there. Other than that, it's not too special ^^"

i can't stand the wix profiles or the ones with 398398420384893842034 anime pictures, or the people that put their friends' avatars all over the page.

I think profiles are usually important, to me its like 20% of your interests and about me section mixed together

your profile theme sometimes expresses or reveals what you're into and what you like and dislike =P

I always check profiles, dunno why. You can usually tell a bit about someone from that is the way I always looked at it. I make my own profile layout but I have to get someone else to do the coding as I know nothing about that..lol.

I love profiles! I read them all the time, especially when a new person pops up in one of my threads. c:
Even the ones that are way too much words and you're like "Holy crap who is gonna read all this omg I JUST DID UGH."
But then when I get the "THIS IS PRIVATE BUSINESS" it makes me sad. I know some people are really gung-ho about their privacy but... wh... I wanna see. :c

There are some reeeally pretty ones out there, like the ones with artsy collages and stuff, I wish I had the patience to make something that awesome! My profile is probably not the world's best profile, but I think it gives people a fair idea of what I'm like, so it's all good. :T

The Climax

Well I went to the lengths of learning CSS and made quite a bit of profiles, some on tektek, and I do think I make my profiles awfully well, but then this thing called Wix came out, and now everyone and their mom makes amazing profiles incredibly easily without much thought at all [insert rageface]!

No one in the profiling community takes them seriously though so you shouldn't exactly be disheartened. It's practically the same as other generators and the drag&drop system, handy, but in no way amazing.

Anyone "serious" about profiles = Keep dat wix and generated piece of hoohaa out of my face.

I check most if not all profiles if I come across someone new in the forums that I haven't seen before. Thankfully, I'm in the PD most of the time, so not really very many coming in. I love profiles, I love making profiles even if I've been lazy/busy lately, and I love being in that sort of group of people on this site. *Shrugs* They're more important to me than avatars.

Generally, if I can't find out about someone from their profile, I won't talk to them. As long as it allows me to learn more about a user, I don't care what their profile looks like. I can't stand it when people have pictures covering up their About Me section, though.

I used to make my own profiles, but I stopped because it's too much work.

My profile is freaking sweet it cost me a pretty Gaian penny though but it was all worth it.
I do look at profiles but my favorite(beside my own.. not egotistical though... ) is Tennyo's her profile is lovely whee I hate when profiles have cluttered glitter and other randomness to distract from the beauty of it

You know I love profiles, but people have began to become less interested in them.
I think profiles tell the person, if people don't bother updating their profiles and just use tektek's thats just boring. Don't use other people's work unless you pay them to make you a piece of art of a profile.

Profile's describes the person. I try updating mine once in a while (i kinda stop to wait on a profile I paid for, that should be finished soon....)

Profiles are just the best feature on the site, I just wish they weren't so ignored.
