Like I said above- I'd still subscribe after the angel system moves over, but I think since you get to select which perks you want it would matter what perks I get to choose from, so I'd need to wait and see what they actually are offering.

Just to clarify, the drag and drop perks thing was for the old survey. Basically, we were allowed to customize our own dream subscription with the perks that they gave us. However, there is no confirmation that the actual service will be like that. I just added that screenshot of them as proof that they did at some point exist as possible options.

I would prefer if we got to select our perks but if it ends up as 'this perk can only be unlocked at this tier and above' sort of deal I'd need to weigh up if it's in my budget and if it's worth it. I'm just going to wait to see what comes of it but I'll still have my ear to the ground in terms of how things look.

I did do the survey but I'm not sure if they ever released the results? I'm assuming the shop listings/pms/outfit slots and dark mode were the highest requested because otherwise they wouldn't be putting those at the forefront.

I hope there are more tiers between $5 and $20 though. There's just a really large jump between them at the moment. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes of this. Thanks for the info.

So, I'm somewhat excited and a bit scared of this. I know Gaians don't like change. As some still even still use gold instead of plat. So I can see this getting a lot of hate, and I really hope Gaia staff doesn't take it personally and cancel the project before it gets off the ground. This does have potential. I am super excited about the dark mode because most of the time I'm on Gaia it's in the ghosting hours. So, will it work, can it work and how does it work.

Alright, reading over it looks a bit confusing at first. But, I feel like they have done something similar to this where you chose the perk you wanted. I forgot what it was though. But excited to see changes come to Gaia in the future even if it is unavailable as of now. It means Gaia has heard our feedback and is working on it. I thank Gaia every day for giving me my life outside real life. Because Gaia gives me time to unwind relax, make avatars, sort through my inventory, find friends, community, runways, and so much more Gaia has to offer. I have reconnected my favorite hobby that I thought I lost years ago. Roleplaying... I do love to write. But, I digress.

So as far as I can tell it's a perk, so they can give you rewards, just not Gaia cash. Which is fine, I do like extra features. But, as an angle subscriber, I prefer to spend cash to add to my virtual wallet. So I'm not sure if there isn't something I can get from the cash shop or some sort of monthly exclusive my the monthly angel item I may not be interested. I like rare items and collecting monthly items like the angel items. Used to be monthly collectibles. But that's not all I collect... Enough about me and my fascination with items.

So I'm going to leave it open right now. My thought's are somewhat a bit confused on the payment and how much it cost. Maybe I just a kid's version to explain it to me as if I was a child. Or actually like try doing it to see how it works before I state my opinion on it. I believe it can work in the right audience. If gaians are ready that is. Which I think they are! I do like these "please build these" perks: I can't wait to see them in action.

So 90% of my wishlist is unlisted or over 1tril worth. I have 5 full pages of wishlist items with tons of if never seeing the light of day. To me these items have meaning and it's like I can't complete my collection unless I have this one last unlisted item that last sold in oh... wait the graphs aren't even showing up for the year analysis because it hasn't been sold in xx years?

So this is cute, I remember ages ago when having 10,000gold was being rich. But when we had a little inventory and you wanted to show off what you were wearing you would just post it in the inventory button with your post. So I wish they can fix that now instead of sending ppl to your market place you can be like oh yea you are looking for this item or you want to show off that you own xx item? 'Sorry, you can only display up to 9 inventory items.' But doesn't even show your entire inventory? What's up with that? I think that needs to be severely updated even though you can just bbcode the link now to what you want to show... Maybe this might not make sense and I am going off on a tangent...

I'm hoping that the staff and the userbase can work together to make something the majority will be pleased with.

Also, I agree with Trunk Box perk as well. It's an extremely desirable perk and I hope that they'll implement it with the service. Yes, it can be overpowered- but with the right limitations in place(Wishlist size requirements, number of the same items generated on one account yearly, Sponser/User exclusives/Brand new CS items disqualified, ect) I feel like this one perk alone would solve all the userbases problems; and take pressure off the staff who have to spend so much time constantly rereleasing and deflating prices of countless numbers of items. It has the potential to re-balance a lot of the site by itself if done right.

I'm one of the few users out there who have the funds for whatever, but am also trying to simplify things, so I can say that I'm a bit of everything. Currently weighing in my options atm since my activity on Gaia has been limited these days. The order of my priority are:

No Ads/Captcha
Bonus GC / GC Discounts
Wishlist item grant
Unlimited Outfit/MP-Slots (to sell my duplicates/junk)
That feature to show my wares in the forum (should I venture Exchange Forum to sell)

Depending on how Gaia'll expand on this feature, the things on this list can be added or removed. Everything else not listed, I can live without because I am content with what I have atm.

I think the only thing I would be interested in is the dark mode, since it's better for my poor ol' eyes. But I'unno if I could pay for this all since I have no pennies. I did buy the Zurg flare thing for my username, but I can't afford to buy perks and stuff often sadly. I do want Gaia to stick around, but I don't know how to support it without money. (I just try to be as active as possible, I guess.)

ngl I don't like the idea that all the fancy stuff here gets bound to money/subscriptions.
For multiple reasons. One is, this site is not an 18+ site, we aren't allowed to do a certain kind of avatars and need to keep our tongues tied when it comes to adult stuff. But these with credit cards and lots of money to provide, aren't teens and kiddos Gaia. It's their adults, the older userbase here. So this whole 'we're a site for the younger generation' kind of crap needs to stop if they're gearing everything else towards their aged-up userbase and want their money. But that's also kind of an old topic already, isn't it?

For the other, I think site-based features shouldn't be a subscribers feature only.
Gaia has many loyal users, and some need their money on other things already for a while. But they're still loyal by providing content to the forums.
Now to leave them out of like every new feature they release in future is a d**k move.
I have no credit card atm. I consider getting a new one. But even if I do, I'm honestly strongly inclined to say that I won't spend a penny on here anymore.

They keep pushing out new updates and releases lately that upset me.
'We want your money here, we want your money there... oh you can't pay a thing? No subscription at all? Okay that means you're left out of all the new shiny or useful features here, oopsy woopsy your bad.'. No thank you.

Angel Subs never released a s**t for paws so it was useless for me to begin with.
I just... I dunno. This rubs me completely and utterly the wrong way and I'm tempted to give this site the middlefinger and leave for good.

Maybe I just need a bit to think this over and give it a closer look, yes, but right now? I don't wanna bother with this. I'm not a cash cow.

Abandon old thing and build on top of it is the Gaia way so it's not surprising. Two subscriptions for a dead anime site is ridiculous though. I'm glad that they already intend to migrate the angel sub to the new service.

Gaia staff keep forget that less is more. There are way too many different ways to subscribe, and the current subscription services are way too overpriced for what they offer. It's confusing and not motivating to subscribe to anything. And I'm sure it's very money-consuming and time-consuming for Gaia staff to maintain all of them at the same time, especially when Gaians experience subscription problems. This happens very often, because Gaia Online have too many payment systems to maintain.

Instead of maintaining many expensive subscription services, they could combine everything into just one complete top notch site-wide quality subscription service. They would save so much money and time in the long run, and they could solve subscription-related issues easier and quicker. An easy-to-use (and easy-to-maintain) affordable subscription service that offered great value for money, with all the perks and benefits from the current subscription services. It doesn't show all the current perks and benefits, but it shows how important it is to immediately show value for money in a clear non-confusing way. Remember that each subscription should be affordable, no more expensive subscriptions that will scare Gaians away. My example (https://i.imgur.com/LVNu3BY.jpg) shows $4, $8, $20, or $40 per month.

So from $4 to $40 (not hundreds of dollars) per month. I'm very sure the Pearl supporter ($4 per month) subscription would be super popular, and it's motivating to stay subscribed, because it offers so much more than simply buying $4 of Gaia Cash. This is what a good subscription service is all about (real value for money).

Are you happy with the perks that have been announced? What are your thoughts on them?
I am pretty excited about the perks. The one I'm most excited about is the unlimited marketplace listings! And additional post flairs would be wonderful as someone who loves using flairs/pledges emotion_kirakira

What other perks would you like to see on the subscription?
I like the ones listed already, larger/unlimited PM box and exclusive post styles. One idea can be give subs a chance to influence what items get recolored into what scheme. They can make it a raffle where one sub is randomly chosen every week or two weeks and they can choose which item to recolor, or what color scheme the item can be in. Of course, they can set limits on which items can be recolored, like how they limit rereleases.

And since the pricing for the perks get lower if you "pay today," you can do something similar to angel subs. That way, both angel subs and perks compliment each other.

What kind of things would make subscribing worth it to you?
What has been offered is already a good incentive to sub. No ads and captchas, as well as access to C9 and the bonus GC. If they add more exclusive content like flairs/post styles, that'd make it even more enticing to sub for me.

What is your personal budget for a subscription? Is it limited on income or based on the perks you would receive?
My personal budget is based on both income and perks received. The most I've subbed for is the $20 one. I usually swap back and forth between the $5 and $20. I'm hoping that the perks get added or combined with angel subs because if they remain separate, I'm sticking with angel subs. I prefer the access to C9 and bonus GC over the unlimited marketplace slots/outfit/persona.

While I like the idea of what you are saying I think this would be a bit tricky. The first option is the better option since it would only be $12 per year, which comes out less than the subscription costs. The second option on the other hand is not a bargain, coming in at $48 (which is the subscription price) to $60 per year.

As an Angel Subscriber I would like to keep what I have, but if they implement something like what you give as an example, I would lower my subscription to the bargain level or cancel it altogether.

I am truly curious as to how the Angel Subs will switch over. I haven't read enough about it to understand what may come, but if they cancel the way Angel Subs work now and go for the month to month, bi-annual and annual subs and only offer discounts I think they are shooting themselves in the foot. I may be wrong.

The way I see it someone who subs at $20 per month is guaranteeing Gaia $240 per year. If that option goes away and they sub for the $48 per year sub, they are only guaranteeing $48 per year. I know from my experience that I have gone months without buying anything because nothing grabbed my attention, but I also didn't cancel my sub because eventually Gaia comes out with something I like and it's nice to have GC waiting when that happens rather than trying to see if I have it in my budget to add to my account. Again, I may be wrong and not fully understanding what is to come.
