I knew it was coming, but this was somewhat sooner than I expected. By the end of the year, will it be 100 trillion?
At the old pace, it was supposed to be 100billion by the end of july, back when it was going up by 5bn a week. End of the year?

1,000,000,000,000,000 gold max.
The word for this is quadrillion, right? I don't normally need to conceptualize numbers this high.

They upped their integers so now the gold cap is 9,223,372,036,854,775,807... which if I read that right is a little over 9 quintillion? What gaia WILL need to do is fix their coding so you can see that on marketplace graphs or in trades etc. But they won't do that until it somehow becomes a detriment to their bottom line. They tweaked it before when gold gen payouts started making too many folk hit max confused A little surprised there's no 1tril mythrill coin as yet, but I assume that's because they realized amounts over 9,999,999,999 in the gold shops get dicey to read...

I'm honestly shaking my head because it seemed that they couldn't sell gold generators at 70 percent off so in an act of desperation they have this at 1 trillion. The only thing though is that at what point are all people going to be fed up with gold generators? I can sort of get why it was popular in the past because with the marketplace limit at around 2.1 billion a gold generator made it so that people could get those premium items and not worry to see items being priced at billions, (and now trillions? god)

Now though with the limit so high people would have to buy so many gold generators to be able to get a handful (if that) of the items they want.

I'm wondering why they're not going back to the drawing board since gold generators are clearly not the big hit they once were unless we're now going to have to deal with the onslaught of BS gold generators that lure people with an even higher payout.

Angelic Blob

If they released Gold Shop or Mini Chance Items at the right of Gold Gens, I would likely have less of a problem about this.

They can't entice customers with a higher payout at this point.

And the Devs said the Gold Lotto was pointless. =_= just wow.

I hope this is because those things aren't selling :C and that it stays like that... I have no hope of getting some of the things I want now DX

Considering how many they've been pushing out at us and raising the "Winnable" price every time I believe that everyone's figured out on their trick and haven't been buying them.

Especially now that they've jumped from 150B to 1T. Really tells me that nobody has been buying them at all and they're getting desperate for sales. If only they'd figure out they'd have more money burying us in Item Gen's instead...
...
Item Gens with different items in each new one to those higher up in marketing reading this. Got it!?

I think I see the reasoning behind this. (I'm sorry if this is redundant to any other posts, if so ignore me freely~)

The kickstarter methodology that they are using for funding and profit requires raw capital (real money, be it actual dollars or pseudo dollars through gold), not goods of value (items and RIGs). The kickstarters have been sucking gold out of the economy, to the point that gold is starting to naturally inflate simply by being more scarce. We saw this toward the end of Hidden Tome, where the push for raw gold to get that 500 bil achievement created an environment where items simply weren't selling.

In an ideal gold sink, gold is taken out of the economy to reduce the numbers spent on certain items, while their value tends to remain stable. This process is, when it works, generally slow (much slower than our fast-paced internet world allows for!). Items of extreme rarity and/or great worth will always fetch a high price that's set by the seller (and depends entirely on how much they think they can get for an item). Items of less worth begin to fluctuate - desperate people list them for less and less, and the ABP slowly trends downward as the idea of how much gold a particular item is valued at adjusts.

But this is not a gold sink - it is a kickstarter. Gold in this case is a strange quasi-middleman for money, and money specifically spent on gold generators. These kickstarters have been shown plainly to be part of funding or gauging interest in aspects of the site (such as the manga).

- If they were to remove the gold generators, they would not be able to use kickstarters as funding.
- If they were to devalue gold generators, or even have them at the same rate all the time, they lose customer interest. Customers want their money's worth, and to be enticed to purchase a gamble (in which any payout of value is not certain) the payout must be marketed as being high. The risk must be worth it.

Interestingly, and I present this last word without additional comment, they appear to slowly be moving to a presentation of the gold gens being more "stable" - the gold gens at stable prices (moving away from ridiculous sales), moving away from 100 packs which were just unfeasible at the kind of numbers they were pushing out, that sort of thing.

I still don't get why people bother with the GGs, the payouts are crap for the most part unless you get super lucky, why spend 999GC and get 6-9 billion when you could by a limited item, like the new bride recolor and get around 40 billion? They're not even getting creative with the names on the stupid things now, lol 'piles of gold' haha

I saw that announcement, and i was like:

I don't even know what's a trillion times a thousand. Cause that's what's coming in another month or two.

Widow

So are gold gens not selling?
why the big jump
Meh. Payout is so crap tho so i dont worry much

IRL Noob

I lifted my pinky up to my mouth, and said ONE TREEEEELLION DOLLARS when I read over the announcement.

In all seriousness though, I'm honestly wondering how people keep sustaining these. People who use these are usually (?) the ones that purchase the big stuff on the mp. What baffles me is how that stuff keeps selling for 20 billion, 40 billion, hundreds of billions, just for one item, when the payout from these is so poor. Ignoring lucky people... how many gold gens do you have to purchase to afford just one item? And they're not exactly cheap, either!
