i think it's a healthy way to express your sexual fantasies. i mean, at least you can't get STD's/or pregnant. it's a good way to stretch the imagination. if you are curious you can cyber and see if it makes you excited (to me it's like pictureless porn. people get off on pictures but find it stupid to get off on discriptions. you look at a porn mag and use your imaginations of what you want to do with or too that person. well it's the same thing only they are responding back.) if you feel attracted to it, when you are ready you might want to try it offline.

You make a good point. It's very closed minded to assume that the person can't get any just because they're doing it.. I mean some people just LIKE TO DO IT. As strange as that might seem to some people.. so does other sexual activities.

One thing I don't agree with though, is that while people shouldn't automatically assume one of the individuals is a *****, you can't dismiss the idea entirely. I mean there ARE ***** here, and they DO commit TOS breaking actions like that. You can't assume that both individuals are of legal consent age.

I think the bottom line is that if two people know each other very well, if they love each other, and if they don't make any public displays of sexuality, then it's perfectly fine....... but people who meet up and say:

That's not right. You have no idea how dangerous that is.. and it's that kind of action that makes it wrong in a place like that... because that kind of action happens a lot more than the other kind.

it's also very clever strong manipulation on the ***** side. sure it could start with a cyber, then the ***** could keep the relationship there to make it grow enough for trust to build and so on and so forth. it's not just cybering.

kinda like a guy with candy. it's not just the candy, the ***** has to make it sound tempting and harmeless to the child so they trust them enough to get close to them for the candy.

and yes i think that kind of action is very immature and abusive of cybering and gives a very bad outlook on it. (and it pisses me off to no end! D:< ) though none the less the act is still very harmless. (how smart you are when it comes to online preditors is really based on what you were taught)

another sad thing is that, no matter what people are going to do it, especially if it's against the rules. cause that's when teens and pre-teens do things the most, is if it's challanging the rules. sad

i'm sure ***** would find a way to learn and gain sexual fantasies other then the interenet if they really wanted to. they are pervs, learning that can be easy from mags to porn videos, to stories from other people. etc. the majority of sexual offenders really do what was done to them as kids or what they wish they could have done. it's mostly about control not sexual fantasies (if we are going into *****) young people are easier to control and manipulate so they target them. it's all in your judgement. moving from fantasy to real isn't a bad thing and can be done. just depends on your judgement and how you do it and what it is.

Cybering squicks me in a real way. Why? I come onto Gaia for some escapism. To me, escapism does not equal sex. I'm teenage, would like to consider myself as reasonably innocent, and I don't want to come across rubbish like that.

Okay, so some would say it's not rubbish, and simply a 'healthy' form of expression, but done in public? Just... no. xd You don't REALLY want the real answers to questions like those do you?

Generally I think it's up to the person doing it.. I mean whatever makes them happy right? To some people, the mental stimulation can be just as powerful as physical (as hard as that is to imagine). I guess the entire experience would be about being able to express your sexual desires to another individual, imagining these things in your mind.. and those expressions could be considering arousing to some. A lot of the power behind lovemaking comes from the sexual expression, and I suppose that cyber sexual activities are just another form of expression. And you're right.. If a person is going to masturbate anyway, why not add the effect of telling someone your desires to add to heighten the express nature of the erotic behavior.

In a nutshell, I think people do it because it adds to their solo-sexual activities.. not because it is meant to replace their regular sexual activities.

Ph33r used to have a girlfriend that was into cybering and tried taking onto gaia. She was prefectly literate and all but I had to remind her that cybering wasn't allowed on gaia and that I wasn't into it. I personally don't like the Non-Physical aspect to a relationship and to use "cybering" as a way to fill that gap then I'm pretty opposed to it.
