Will the switch affect my entire Gold amount?
Your gold currency shown will now show completely in platinum once you have selected platinum.

Okay, I'm a little confused here. So when you switch over to platinum does your gold amount convert to an equal amount of platinum or does everyone defaulty start with 0 platinum?

As far as I understand it, your gold will be converted to an equal amount of platinum. But if you have a gold amount under 10m, it'll come up as 0

I am extremely confused about this...could someone explain it to me? The selling part really confused me...

We are all mad here....

if you have your currency set to platinum, but sell a gold shop item that usually sells for like 5,000,000 gold, your platinum wont change (because it takes 10,000,000 gold to get 1 platinum). but if you switch back to gold, the gold is still there. any gold under the conversion rate is just rounded down in platinum, but you still have that gold.

So this means that you can no longer list items in the marketplace for less than 10 million gold/1 platinum coin?

Also what if you have like 10,200,000 gold, do you just lose that 200,000 gold if you switch to platinum?

I think I might just stay with the gold option because that would still confuse me but I understand a bit better thank you.

I remember from one of the earlier staff alerts there will be incentives for using the platinum currency but I don't think I've read anything about it on here.

Platinum is nothing more than a sneaky tax to nickle and dime you. Why pay 150 gold for an old shop item when you can pay with Platinum! Upgrade to the new shiny coins and while you're at it, stop thinking for yourself.

Next you'll need to Whitelist all of Gaia to earn Platinum while subjecting your computer to the constant barrage of malware ads that bring in the highest revenue.

i love how u worded that so true lol

What part of the "selling part" is confusing you?

The long to short of this currency change is simply aesthetic. The last 7 digits of your gold will be hidden so larger numbers wont be as large.

eg: 10000000g = 1p
1000000000g = 100p
^much easier to read.

the platinum will just read 1, but if you earn another 800,000 gold it will go up to 2

but if you switch back to gold the 200,000 will still be there

It'll definitely take some time to get used to it, but it is worth giving it a try.

Thank you for all the hard work!

... So for items that are only 10k I am going to be forced to pay 10m for?
I'm not okay with that.

Can I send trades with no gold still or am I required to send 10m, at minimum, anytime I wish to send a trade?

User Image

Look, if you are trading gold with another person with gold, you can pay the 10k...If you are trading with a person that has platinum, you do need to pay 10mil.
Is 10mil really that much? It's like the new 10k.

not even 2 battles in lake kindred can net you 3 billion in a lv 10-15 area
