It's sweet. Very sweet, and soft.

Go to an Asian food-mart and buy red bean flavored mochi. It tastes like that but with a strawberry in the middle.

Mochi is very soft, powdery, and sweet. The texture is something like a marshmallow, but more stretchy and sugary. And more translucent.

Red bean paste has a syrupy-sweet flavor with a texture similar to normal beans you might make from a can.

It tastes like pure delicous. Seriously. When I lived in Japan, people would laugh when I told them my favorite food was ichigo daifuku... Then they'd say, yeah, me too. (but in Japanese.)
