This makes me so sad, I use to love helping people make their dream avi's with tektek. It was this fun challenge to enter peoples tektek contest to submit ideas and hope that I created something they would like. My whole profile was dedicated to that. Bummmed outttt.

wow. w/o tektek or an alternative to be able to look up peoples builds of certain characters there isnt a good enough way to find items anymore. RIP Gaia online.

I've been on and off Gaia for the past few years, and one of the last times I was on again was right before Tektek was being shut down. It was copyright issues, and most of us were shocked that a third party was running Tektek because we thought it was run by Gaia.

While I completely understand the reasons legal action was taken and how awful it is to have your intellectual property stolen, the loss of Tektek was a huge blow for many Gaians, myself included. It was pretty integral to how I use Gaia and the loss of it kept me away for a very long time (among other things).

But really the most frustrating part was the fact that Gaia hadn't (and still hasn't, all these months later) sought to offer something comparable to replace it. The search in Dress Up is imperfect and throws a mix of results, and it's frustrating to have to click on everything to see all of the poses. Gaia knew about Tektek for years, how many people used it, and instead of offering something better allowed many of us to become dependent on it.

It wouldn't irk me so much if Gaia wasn't constantly making it clear that their priorities are on churning out as many items for cash as they possibly can (which, ironically, exacerbates the issue by dumping more items than any one person could hope to sift through into the market. Thanks, Gaia).

Maybe with Lanzer back he'll fix up Avi Builder to be more useful(one can only hope..... gonk ) he's getting through some other bugs right now but I'm sure he'll do something about that blasted section of Gaia someday.......
