I didn't hate it, but... Yeah, it didn't really stand out to me.

I like the setup of the plot? The reimagining of scripture, though yeah, the storybook opening kinda makes it seem like it's aimed at children. Didn't make sense to me.
The animation is killer but then it's just kinda offset by the character designs (not my thing) and then just how exaggeratedly edgy most things are. Also knowing that the animators were underpaid and treated like s**t.
Most songs were a miss and I'm not sorry. I get that its supposed to be a musical of sorts, but then it feels like they really struggled to try and insert however many songs they did. Really the only song I liked was Loser Baby, as not only was it lyrically sound (unlike so many others), but that was a legit message.

Like despite my criticisms, it wasn't the worst show. I stuck it through to the end out of curiosity for where it went. Which is more than I can say for Helluva, as yeah, that just seemed like everything wrong with Hazbin but without a story I had any interest in. Like I'm not a prude, it just gets annoying hearing ******** ******** suck a c**k over and over like that really makes it an adult-oriented animation...
PS yeah, most of the fans are rabid and stupid children along those same lines, and those are always terrible.

Timid Sweetheart

I like the show, but I also really haven't communicated with the fanbase. I just like animation videos. gaia_uniduck

Grossly popular things turn me off.
Hazbin is very cringy af, and all the characters look too similar.
A lot of my friends have watched it, though, so I can't escape it.

I don't mind if it's popular for good reason
But ppl are like obsessed w HH and I just don't see it
I watched the whole thing 2 times
1st time I was like ok that wasn't bad but it wasn't good
Then I watched it a 2nd time w my bf to see if I was just being a judgemental a*****e but I found myself holding the same opinion
It's just ok

The songs were SO ******** BAD
And I LIKE MUSICALS!!
Ppl are always like "duh well its supposed to be a musical"
Yea ok well it's a bad one!
It didn't HAVE to be a musical either
In fact it would have been better if most of the songs were just regular spoken dialog
Why did vaggie ask Charlie to not sing in episode 1 and then turn around and sing later??? Like clearly singing is just a thing ppl do in that universe??? It's so strange

I agree loser baby is fine
I don't love Poison but I can accept its existence bc it's like he's doing a music video
And I liked the 1st song in ep1 bc it was silly
Disney princess singing in hell haha funny and oxymoronic
But then it happened again....and again....and again like it's just something that clearly happens in their universe so idk why vaggie would even act like Charlie shouldn't be singing

Does it really need background lore?
Being honest, I watched it without doing any background research and understood the plot just fine.
If the lore is important they'll either explain things properly at some point or they'll do the bad writing thing and leave it up to the viewers to find out - which I won't, cause I don't care enough about the show to hunt for side content.
I enjoy Hazbin for what it is - something to watch when I've got nothing else to consume.

Sweetest Sweetheart

I'll always miss the pre released hazbin hotel fandom

Sweetest Sweetheart

I hated hazbin hotel simply because of how they removed the spice out of some characters and how dirty they do most female characters

I always LOVED velvette's pilot outfit even if she just appears on screen for 3 seconds. Now it feels so bland and different in a bad way :/

Same with angel dust's sister, they just made her a background character 😭😭😭😭

Yeah, it comes off as mediocre at most.

Trash Bunny

I have friends who like it but I just cant stomach the show. Writing is godawful, too much singing, i dont ******** with the character design as a whole. It's bad when you can watch roughly 5 min of an episode and know the gist of what happened. Its funny how bad it is, though I havn't bothered lookin into fandom shite outside of what a friend has made because i dont wanna see it. Put that ******** show in the bin and try again with better writing and art direction. At the bare minimum the voice acting for the main cast isnt that bad, but the show is painfully mid and some good VA's cant fix that

theiatrical's Problem

Cunning Vampire

I feel similarly. Granted I have been in the fandom since the pilot aired years ago and was excited to see where it went and it just felt.... hollow. Like there's stuff there to work with but no substance, like they threw balled up pieces of lore at a trash can and just hammered together whatever actually went inside it. I like the characters, they're fun and while I understand where vivzie was going with "every ring of hell has a different color scheme" it does make everyone look just so incredibly similar. because even in helluva boss the characters are red, black, and white. and we know theyre on a different ring of hell so idk. its a good premise that lacks substance, I hope season 2 can save it.... because it feels like season 1 was just there to set up the actual story. it was rushed, with many subplots, there wasn't really an overarching plot thru the episodes, the time skips were insane.
