Thats my personal opinion as to why they (other sites) tend to be unpleasant anyway. Just the people.. meh. x.x

Cause I'll give ernya credit for having one of the best staffs of all sites. x.x Just the people... and the cookie-cutter generi-avis. Gag. x.x I cant stay. I get on occasionally to see whats new but.. no interest. xD

Yeah, they have a nice staff that's seems really in-tune with the community. Gaia lost that a while ago 9m9

And Solia, I only vaguely remember its art and forums but the people there, including the staff was really really mean. :c

I've always been put off by solia. I mostly just get my daily prize, occasionally play games, and dress my avatar. I avoid the forums for the most part.

Syndrone staff are rude, at least in my experience. Plus they have this rule that a post can not have less than three words, so a post like "congratulations, soandso!" can get you in trouble. It's stupid. I can understand not having posts that are like, a single emoticon, but give me a break.

The most recent one I can think of is Chloria. However, it's ridiculously new and doesn't have many members.

I don't know if it's because I've been here for almost ten years or if gaia really is just better than everything else but I always seem to find myself coming back here.

On topic, I guess I've never really thought of going anywhere but Gaia. Even when things that happen anger me, a combination of nostalgia and familiarity keep drawing me back. (That, and the awesome people I've met on this site.)

and most of the time it's not really comparing gaia to a new thing. if the said new thing is nice, then yeah i will join it. why not? even gaia took me a while to adapt, but i came to love it.

Except on Neopets there is totally a way to earn enough Neopoint cos they have a butt ton of games.

A lot of those sites have avatars a lot like solia... weird lol. I have an a**-old solia account, but i don't remember the password, or the email account i registered the pass with, but i have a few collectables and i think my avatar was a furry from some old event, is being a furry rare? I bet my account is worth big solia fake monies and i kinda wanna get back into it, is all i'm saying.

But lol yeah a lot of those sites have really strict rules... like just wanting to post casually and have fun is against the rules. Is solia really that bad because i remember it being ok, but i was young and boring then.

I'm pretty sure this kind of thread isn't allowed here. This forum is for discussing site (as in, Gaia only) related stuff, or stories relating to Gaia. Just saying.
Anyway, I've tried looking at other Gaia type sites. Most of them lack an art style that appeals to me. Most of them are creepy. o-o;. Menewsha isn't really creepy, but I don't like many of the lips or eyes. And Solia is WAY too hard to get started on, so I gave up on it. And as for communities, Gaia is the best right now. I didn't invest enough time into Solia, so I'm not sure, and Menewsha had a pretty good community (members were nice, and willing to have good discussions, but it took awhile to get replies), but Gaia just has something they don't. I feel more part of the site than I do just a member discussing something I'm a fan of. I don't know why. Maybe because when we don't like something, we band together to stop it? Other communities don't seem to be as vocal. And it seems like some things we say DO make a difference. Now, if they'd listen to us about gold generators..
Maybe I've been here too long, but I don't know of anything better than Gaia right now. We just have the best community and best pixel art of all of them.

At least with Gaia you can sell the items you buy with your real $$. You can't sell the things you buy from Neopets for NPs. Hell they don't even let you gift NC items without NC Boxes. You can't even BUY NC boxes. I think Neopets sucks more than Gaia.

The only avatar site that I personally thought could come close to Gaia was TinierMe (which died after a hugeass inflation); the rest felt sort of dull and empty. Then again, Gaia's pretty huge and I'm more into buying items than making friends. sweatdrop
