Have you tried pasting this link in the adress bar first and then go to chrome://flags? That's what worked for me but every Flash based feature on Gaia stopped working for me after setting that option to disabled :/

If you haven't already, change it back. If the default configuration works better for you, no reason not to use it.

No more puzzle piece, thankfully. I just wish our animated avatars weren't locked behind a grey play button.

Same this play button is pissing me off... >.> I have done everything, and still get the stupid play button.
We just need to move away from flash as a whole...

How much effort do you think it would be to switch the avatar system over like that?

With the rest of their work load? A ton.
They have everything animated based on flash and have had it based on flash for years. I remember when we first got flash games and all that. It will not be easy, but I think letting people know it's on their list might be helpful in just keeping us from being upset over it til it's fixed.

I don't mind waiting if I just know that its in the process of being fixed because I get that theres a ton of items let alone Zomg and Fishing and Puzzles and all the other flash spaces like towns and such will need to be fixed, They don't have the largest team right now so I imagine it would take a bit. gonk

I could certainly understand. They're already doing a lot to fix things. I applaud the effort. I just miss animated avatars giving the site a little more life.

Same I don't have the Enable Ephemeral Flash Permissions option on my chrome like they want you to have to update/enable Flash
I'm lucky enough to where Towns2 and zOMG loads...but the lag is insane on both, Towns probably works for 4 minutes before my avi bugs out with either moving to far from where I tell it/ not moving at all before it crashes
and zOmg is probably good for three command clicks on it before my avi freezes and has to wait a few seconds before it can pan to a next area or use a ring

How did you manage to fix it? I'm facing the same problem where the option to disable that feature isn't available since the feature itself is not on the list that comes up from the #enable-ephemeral-flash-permission link

I have begun to face this same problem, from what I understand right now there is no fix for it, as the rest of this thread was posted in September. I have attempted to use firefox, chrome, reset settings, reinstall flash, and still nothing works. I just assume now that towns, or any of the flash features are no longer functional, which is sad.

I just developed this problem. I'm using a slightly older version of Chrome (69) because the update they just rolled out a few days ago doesn't let me swap back to my shorter tab bar with an actual border around the URL box and it's hideous. I've tried all combos of settings with the ephemeral Flash permissions, and nothing's working. All I want to do is play some Jigsaw before bed. (I was having an issue with that, too, several days ago. Every puzzle I finished gave me a single gold for my trouble.)

Edit: It's not working in Firefox, either. I click Jigsaw and first it opens a popup that says "SUCCESS! Gaia Jigsaw will now launch in a new window." And then that window opens another popup that says "General Error - invalid game specified." gonk
It's working for me again! You will get the same page redirecting you to the ephemeral settings thing, but click allow through chrome in the top left (I did this countless times before and was unsuccessful, but decided to give it one more shot) and it will load

I go to Chrome flags, and search for Flash. This is all I get.

My aquarium won't load, It redirects to the "you must install Flash" page. Both browser and Flash are up to date. I haven't been able to access my aquarium in over 2 weeks. My inventory tell me I've lost 3 fish.

I'm trying this.... How to Enable Flash
It's a little out of date, but the new updates took out all of my "allowed" sites, and didn't give me the option to add them back. THIS added to the "allowed" list.

The easier way to allow a site to run Flash is to go to the site and then click on the little icon to the left of the URL in the address bar.
The icon will either be a lock icon if the connection is using HTTPS or it’ll be an information icon if the connection is non-secure. When you click on this icon, you’ll see a bunch of settings you can configure for that particular site. Towards the bottom will be Flash. By default, it should be set to Use global default (Ask), which means the browser should ask you if you want to enable Flash for a site that has Flash content.

So I tried doing everything in the stickied thread, but the chrome://flags didn't show any of what I needed. So I checked if I needed an update and let Chrome update.

Now my problem is that I am unable to add custom allows in the Flash setting pages.
I currently have it set to "block sites from running Flash".

I checked chrome://flags and "Run all Flash content when Flash setting is set to 'allow'" is not an option that I can find.

I do have "Enable Ephemeral Flash Permissions" - is this the same thing?

Edit: Okay, so disabling this made it so I can add the [*.] thing to Flash player permissions. The problem with it not playing the animation still persists.

Edit 2: Everything I'm using is up to date. Just double checked that.

I know this is from September, but if you're having trouble still, or again, the above worked for me.

click the icon to the left of the URL, and change your flash settings there.
