Do Hiei and Mukuro end up together?

Hm...there isn't really a yay or Nay thing to go off of for that particular pairing. There isn't anything that offically declares them as a couple in the manga, though Mukuro does seem to harbor some affection for Hiei. The fact that he thought enough to give her a birthday present in the manga could show that PERHAPS he has feelings for her to a certain extent...however I'm more of the mind that that particular preasent was Hiei's way of trying to get his boss over a certain weakness. With what the Manga left it at, I would say friendship and nothing more. However, considering that it IS Hiei we're talking about, that's a feat. He respects her at the very least. wheather or not it would grow into something more...meh, who can tell? there's enough reasonable doubt to make it plausible.

Its obvious they understand each other far deeper then anyone else in they're lives does, but its never stated in the manga or anime for sure if they end up together. Its hinted at - the little looks, the birthday present, the words between them - everything is crawling with emotion. In fact, Im tempted to say they are the most emotional two people in the series. neutral Keiko and Yusuke dont even stand up to the tension floating around between Hiei and Mukuro. @_@

I personally dont like the pairing because Hiei can do better. Mukuro is kind of creepy ... but I DO love her because shes awesome and Wendy Powell played her in the English version. 4laugh

I have to say for all the information I gathered, which isnt much actually, Hiei respects her, and hen he goes to the demon world and lives with her, its because she made him into her heir, or something like that. I read an interview with the creature of Yu Yu Hakusho (somewhere) and he said Hiei did not really have a love or sexuality for that matter.

But I dont know. I have one mind set when it comes to my precious little demon, which I'll keep to myself heart

End up together...? No the only actual couple in the series is Yusuke and Keiko. Imagine whatever you want, but I don't think Togashi intended anything of the sort.
Personally , they are close but I don't think either of them feel a romantic or sexual attraction to the other.

I honestly think that Hiei and Mukuro have a close relationship since they understand each other so well. They respect one another. I don't see anything romantic in it, though. As for Hiei living with Mukuro, I don't think so.

I'd love to ask Togashi if he intended for Mukuro and Hiei to have a romantic relationship but I doubt that will ever happen. :/ The only real relationship in Yu Yu Hakusho is Yusuke and Keiko.

One thing to remember is that Hiei 'respects' people who can beat him. He makes it clear by how he knows Kurama would be a challenge for him and it's why he doesn't fight him. I remember that from the beginning of the show when he tells Yusuke that when Kurama goes to battle the rock monster...thing. Yusuke beats him and wala, they become friends (even if Hiei doesn't want to admit it.)

I'm not a fan girl. And when you can look at it with more open eyes and not "I DON"T WANT THEM TOGETHER!" eyes... It's a bit clearer.

I think, possibly, she likes him. But we as humans can misinterpret things drawn on a screen and in real life. Too many people think someone gave someone the eye to find out they were wrong.

I think Hiei respects her. And I don't see any problem with him staying in demon world. He is, technically, a demon. What is he going to do in human world? For a good portion of the series, he was stuck their by law of koenma. Botan had to bribe him once to extend the boundaries he could go. And to become the heir of a powerful being to become stronger, which we know hiei likes to do... It makes sense he'd go train with her.

No one says he's 'living' with her. He's staying in human world and he's probably training under her.

But we cannot really know unless we talk to the creator.

Look at it this way! If anyone has seen Slayers and think Amelia and Zelgadis like each other... It's the same thing. In Slayers case, the creator actually got mad at the artists because he NEVER wanted the characters to have an interest in one another. He tried to make that clear by the age gap between the two (Which varies between manga and anime.)

It's all in the creator. But seriously, who can say! Half the people out there think Kurama and Hiei have a thing going. And other people, sick people mind you, think he and his sister have a thing. Sadly, I've met people who think that. -Shudder-

One thing to keep in mind is that neither Mukuro or Hiei are particularly fond of outwardly displaying their emotions. I think that they're about as 'couple-like' as one could make them without either seeming out of character. It is stated at one point that they express their emotions in battle, then Hiei breaks Mukuro's chains before she beats him. It's probably the greatest gift that anyone could possibly give to Mukuro. Mukuro also trains Hiei and helps to strengthen him while earning his respect, she helps him to find a reason to keep on fighting when he was just going to give up on life. They hug once, sort of. I honestly think that they were supposed to end up as a couple. But neither is really the romantic type of person, they are both blood thirsty killers, so to see any blatant, normal 'couple-like' behavior between them would actually creep me out.

The birthday gift? That's the nicest thing Hiei has ever done for anyone as far as we know, including Yukina.

As for the matter of living together, Mukuro owns a home and Hiei goes where he wants. I think that he does stay with her often, but doesn't do so all the time, thusly, the tree. However, I do have to point out that in the last episode of the anime Hiei walks into a room, sits down, and puts his feet up on the table. Directly across, Mukuro is sitting in a bed and they have a casual 'How was your day?' conversation.

Maybe they're not a couple, but if Hiei isn't with Mukuro, then he's alone for the rest of his life.

I never viewed their bond as romantic in either the anime or manga. It seemed, to me, more like a strong friendship/alliance. They both understand and respect each other, which I feel is more important to them than forming a romantic attachment.
