You know, I really think it is more the male bodies than the p***s going into the a**s. If the latter appeals to girls, it probably has to do with liking to see a guy be in the 'submissive' role in a sexual situation. You call it gross, but what really is less gross about hetero sex?

Yes, but the interest of oogling at 2D pictures is to feel the appeal, the ability of the artist to translate an attractive body in a personal style. Most of the time, they cut corners on many anatomical details, and make the body frames all the same, no diversity in details like hips, waists, legs, three things that have an important erotic factor, when pulled well. What a shame. On that point, when you have minimal lurking skills, 3D is intensely superior. Or Western gay porn comics. Seriously, I'll never understand why they never get the spotlight, so many western artists are gods at this.

Well, I wasn't JUST talking about the area below the neck. I was talking about the whole guy. I really don't like that terribly many details on the body anyway. Give em too many details and they end up looking all beefy. Maybe that is your thing (you mentioned bara), but I just find it grotesque.

Well pretty faces are pretty faces, but bodies that when you see one, you saw them all, it just get boring. I'd like to count on the character developement, but I'm totally in the wrong genre for that.

I believe the reason I like yaoi is because of the "forbidden love." They have to fight to keep their relationship going. I personally don't like yaoi one shots. I'm not against it. I am just not into it. I was never attracted to men who were much older than me at any point in my life, so that might be the difference.
