• I reach out my hand into the darkness..
    Hoping for another hand to grasp it tightly
    As if a lifeline in the forever lost abyss..
    To shed new light on this predicament and find my way out warily

    There’s nothing like dim shadows
    To let you know just how alone you are
    I pass opaque, broken windows
    It seemed as if light had never touched their blackened glass

    And along the boundaries, ancient scratches and scars
    Glowed in the faded light, as if showing me the vast
    Historic attempts to leave this marred and solitary place
    All in vain, all in vain, the emptiness echoed

    I step on ahead into the limitless space
    Wishing for a friend to end my heart from feeling hollow
    But it begins to fearfully pace
    Realizing the inevitability that I may never leave

    And I’m consumed by unbelievable sorrow
    A bright beam blinds my tear-soaked eyes
    An undiscovered crevice, a break in the rock
    I stumbled and crawled to this, a wish come true

    But hard to believe..
    I burst into and through
    To a bright, colorful world
    I fall forward into a bed of hollyhocks

    From a place once thought
    There was no escape…
