• I walk up to the side of a cliff,
Not knowing what I would find.
When I arrived, I saw something,
    That blew my mind.

Across from me with outstretched land,
Was a meadow so lush and green.
    The breeze was blowing gently,
And a rainbow of flowers can be seen.

Moving my eyes around the ground,
    I spot one lone flower.
    It had such vibrant colors,
And from fear it would not cower.

I smiled as i looked upon the field,
Filled with such an overflow of grass.
I was lucky enough to see this,
    Such a beautiful giant mass.

    Many years have passed,
Since I last stood on that ledge.
I decided to go one last time,
Before I finally left its edge.

    When I looked down,
    To see the field,
    I saw something else,
That the area did not wield.

    A city has grown,
At the middle of its base.
    Not one flower was spared,
    Not even a little space.

    As I looked with dismay,
    At the shattered scene,
    My eyes caught a glimpse,
    Of something I had seen.

The vibrant flower from my past,
    That lived in such solitude,
    Now was interupted by men,
    Who were oh, so rude.

Its head that was held high,
    Was now dropping low.
    Saddened by how its friends,
    Were struck by a blow.

I turn away and begin to walk.

I couldn't look at it anymore.
