In the deep, black night
Our sleeping eyes miss
How the gods do fight;
Reality falls into abyss.
Their conflict unknown
By every mortal
Each power conquered
And hurled through a portal.
The weaker succumb
To the ethereal strain
Their limbs become numb
And they perish in pain.
Many bodies are burnt,
For the gods otherwise heal
So many lessons learnt,
And so many lives to steal.
The war will eventually cease
And the gods will all be dead.
The universes will have deceased;
In their place left only dread.
Eventually chaos will reign supreme
And daylight will never come.
Reality will tear at the seams
And the chords of disaster will hum.
The wheels of time will turn
And later will create
The product of laws spurned -
The essence of beauty late
New powers will be reborn,
And order will restore
A world that was once torn
will no longer need endure.
and the chords of disaster will hum.

- Description: I was doing research on Greek Mythology for a class a few years ago, and stumbled onto Norse mythology, where I read about Ragnarok, so I decided to write a poem about it.

- Yes, I remember the legend of Ragnarok. The Great Wolf Fenrir will break free of his chains and bring the Day of Ragnarok, or Armageddon.
