• The summer breeze was nice & cool
That day I lay by a silver pool
As I lay there I think nothing of school

Then high over my head shadow forms
I just lay there as if I were dead
It swooped closer as I dared not move

I opened my eyes upon a bird so pretty & rare
his feathers so beautifully bright, the other birds took flight
If I were a kid I'd probably scream in fright

When he flapped his wings he looked like he was on fire
My legs were weak my mouth was raw I called him sire
I fell to my knees as I bowed hopefully to his desire

To my surprise he sang a joyful little song
"The Phoenix is here so don't worry my dear,
I'll shed a few tears & I'll heal you here!"

As he flew away like a fire in a forest
The tears he shed were the dearest

Even though he meant to heal my wounds
It was my heart he healed the greatest
