• It starts out slow...
The falling cotton balls are cold...
Looking closer they're even more beautiful...
Patterns all different from the last...

    Then it gets faster...
The cotton balls become a blanket...
It makes a sweet crunch noise...
Kids like to tear the blanket...
And throw the pieces at each other...

    It stops...
    The sharp crystals have formed...
    They have a strange beauty...
The kind you have to actually stare at...
    To see it...

    On the inside...
    There are families in blankets...
    Snuggled up with each other...
Drinking hot chocolate by the fire...
    They seem happy...

    It's a special day...
    Kids are running around...
    Parents are smiling at them...
They tear open colorful wrapped boxes...
And some were hidden in the tree...

    Later on that special day...
Families go visit aunts, and, uncles, and grandparents...
The cousins play with the kids...
They all drink eggnog and reminisce...
Then they celebrate a birthday, by wishing on a star...

The day before the new year...
    People seem to gather...
They get all sorts of toys...
    Count down from ten...
Then they shout and pull their toys...

    The new year has started...
Some eat breakfast and then head for a party...
Others stay at home and read...
    Kids are out of school...
And everyone seems happy except for the police...

    There's another special day...
It seems to be red and pink with hearts...
Two people in love go on dates...
Children give each other small cards...
And even the people without someone seem happy...

So that's the truth about this season...
It seems filled with merriment and cheer...
And there might be more occasions...
    That just make this season...
    A very wonder winter...
