• She lies there crieing
    and cringing in fear
    Wondering how close he was
    and growing so near

    The bruises never fading
    the cuts here and there
    the pain so excruciating,
    she can hardly bear

    He gets closer and closer
she tries to make a plan
    She laughs as she thinks
of hitting him with a pan

    She's huddled in the closet
    knowing that he's home
    He opens up the door,
and leads her to the phone

    She calls up her parents,
so she can say good bye,
    But they will never know
the hurt that she had inside.

    The neighbors hear the gunshot
    and call the police,
    knowing that her soul
    is resting in peace.
