• The soul ablaze with faerie light
    Was naught but a dream...
She woke to shores of ever night
    And torment by black birds

The dreamer lay on shores of night
    Reaching to the sky
A poet in the depths of sin
    A beauty by the sea

The crows laughed at her foolishness
    The love she had inside
A longing for the dying dream
    The symphony of night!

The magpies sang their mocking song
    The dreamer bowed her head
In shame she wept at foolish dreams
There’s no love for the dead

“What soars on raven wing?” she cried
    “Through my shores of night?”
“Alas! ‘Tis my hopes the raven flies away…”
The poet screamed at smiling bird

The dreamer lay on shores of night
    Turning from the sky
A poet wept for life and love
And wished to see a snowy dove
