• RIPPING DOWN THE HIGHWAY

    Ripping down the highway
Going nowhere and getting there fast,
    Never thinking on tomorrow
And trying to forget the past.
This road goes through hard times
But it also passes through the good
And life is too darned short
To always be doing what you should
Like passing up the fun times
Every time one shows up by the way.
    For tomorrow is coming.
    It seems there’s always another day . . .
    another day.

    Ripping down the highway
Going nowhere and getting there fast
It don’t matter much if you’re first
So long as you’re never last.
    So remember that loved one
And leave her with a smile on her face
For this world has too much sadness.
Why there are teardrops all over the place.
And work hard if you have to
But deserve it when you draw your pay
    For tomorrow is coming.
    It seems there’s always another day . . .
    another day.

Then go ripping down the highway
Going nowhere and getting there fast,
But don’t think much on tomorrow,
And do your best to forget the past.

    Don’t think much on tomorrow,
And do your best to forget the past.
