i loved you....
and forever i will...
since they day u left
was the day my heart dropped
feelings of no life in me
i hope your happy with your new life
because....
every morning i think...
of the mistakes i have made....
if only i had you back...
i would never let go....
but.....
your happiness is all i ever wanted....
im not stopping you....
its your life
and you make your choices
if you its what you deeply want.

Your right. Poetry doesn't need rhyming or rhythm. But they both help it sound better. Even without rhyming, rhythm can make something sound correct. Poetry is about expressing yourself... but more than that its about making a point. But making a point with expressive language, and in depth thought. This seems a bit generic, is what I'm getting at.
