• He said he was coming back but he never did. I put all my morning and night prayers towards him and nothing happened. Its been four days. He PROMISED he would be back, but sadly he is not. I trudged up the grassy hill every morning to look over and see if a small figure cloaked in black was coming near.No figure was ever in sight. All I saw was the usual animals below me. "Laurie he'll be back, your father always keeps promises." My mother had told me on the third day of this week. I would have believed... but something in me wouldn't let me. It was like some great little force was making me not get my hopes up about his return. As the fifth day of the week came, I cried all morning on top of the hill. My mother had followed me and sat next to me. " He always said, if I'm not back on the sixth day... then pray to me." my mother whispered. I moved closer towards her and looked over the hill. I was not surprised when I saw the same dark green grass waving back at me in the wind. As if it was saying," Ofcourse he's not coming Laurie... don't be foolish." I stood up and ran down the hill. "Daddy! Daddy please come back! I really miss you! Daddy!" I heard my mother yelling after me and running. I stopped in the middle of the field and watched my tears kiss the grass. " Daddy... I miss you." I whispered slowly as I hugged myself. My mother came behind me and watched. "Laurie...." that's all she said that day. And that's all she could say, Laurie... because my dad meant everything to me. As I turned away from my place and pass my mother, I looked up towards the hill and smiled, like my father used to do to greet me. crying rofl
