• Glass Coffin

You were buried in a glass coffin

    Laid, to rest for eternity

    Beneath the frozen ground

For no matter how many times

    I kissed your cold lips

    You remained asleep

Am I not your one true love?

Was there someone else who treasured you more?

Made you laugh, Made you smile

Made you heart burst with joy

    I saw no poisoned apple

No spindle to p***k your finger

They say you went quietly in the night

    My own Sleeping Beauty

Your favorite fairytale holds more meaning

    Then it did before

Our family, like the Seven Dwarves

    Mourn for their loved one

    For death, The Wicked Step-Mother

    Came and took you away

I should have been your Prince

The one to save the day

We would have rode off into the sunset

    A happy ending for all

But I am not a prince

    You are not just asleep

And Happily Ever After doesn’t exist

    In this fairytale called life.

All I have left are memories

    And a cold cement headstone

    With the carved Epitaph

Loving Son and Friend; Gone but never forgotten
