• A DAY IN MODERN WARFARE 2
    (DESCRIPTIVE ESSAY)
    By Taylor Stevens

Have you ever thought of going to war? Well Modern Warfare 2 is the closest you can get to real war. There are many obstacles and great hardship in the road you choose to take. The tip I shall give you is this, survive.

I can hear the high-pitched scream of men being pumped with lead and dying. I hear the bellow of the machine gun stabbing bullets through skin. The reverberation of crunching bones from being compressed by a tank is harmonized with the explosives detonated. Then you hear the tumble of the tank, the deafening sound of its cannon.
The sense of a blood drenched theatre of war, barbed wire stabbing from everywhere reminds me that this isn’t a place for the weak, but a place for the courageous. I feel bullets piercing through my skin and going through my body. I awaken at 3:00 a.m. feeling like a waste dressed in the same clothes I fight in.
I see the sunset vanishing, beginning to blacken the sky. I see soldiers dying beside me, soldiers who I have been beloved to me my entire life. I see the rocket that ends my great streak of courage. Then I witness associates and fellow soldiers, observing me as I breathe my last breath. I see my last glimpse of ones I love, and then I go to be with my true father.
In conclusion, the sights, sounds, and the things you feel in war make it just that more terrifying. You crawl in blood soaked dirt, only to find that your friend is dead. And once again, the tip I shall give you is this, survive.
