• Chapter One

My alarm clock sang The Puppets new song.
I rolled myself out of bed unwillingly. It was time for school, more specifically college and even more specifically the first day.
I was studying to become an animator at the University of Burble. Burble, England. Best buddies with London, which housed the fit Puppet boys. First day of school wouldn’t be so bad. It was on a Friday and this Friday was “Hook-up with a Boy” Friday. Jennifer and I did this every 1st Friday of the month (That is if one didn’t have a boyfriend). I walked to the shower to begin my day.
Carefully wrapped in my black skull robe, I tiptoed back to my bedroom in search of an outfit worthy for college and another one for tonight. I ended up picking out my most worn-out jeans and my only vintage “The Ramones” tee. After eating a bowl of cereal and brushing my two toned black and white hair, I walked to the next apartment over to wait for Jennifer.
“Jen Bunny!” I called for her outside her apartment door. “You’re going to make us late for school.”
“I’m coming!” I heard her say.
Afterwards a crash and the sound of Ginger, her cat, hissing erupted from her space. Jennifer stumbled out of her room slightly mussed up but she still looked great. How does she do it?
“Okay let’s go.” She said straightening herself up.
We walked through the maroon coloured shag carpet, towards the elevator and discussed tonight's plans.
“Okay, so I was planning on wearing my pinstriped skirt with my lacy blue camisole." she said giggling to herself.
“You mean the micro mini one that looks like booty shorts? You’re such a slut!”
“You should try being a little bit of a girl more often.”
“Yeah, but don’t expect me to wear a skirt.” I said pushing her out of the empty elevator.
We walked to our stop to wait for the shuttle bus. The wind seemed like an 800 lb football player as it blew against my body. Finally the shuttle bus came and Jennifer and I took seats in the back.
“So what are you wearing tonight?” she asked me.
But I didn’t answer. I was too distracted by an article in the magazine that a mate in front of us, was reading. Next to an article about a missing cat, was an ad of the Puppets having a private show at a café and you would be allowed backstage if you brought in the flyer.
“Excuse me, “I said tapping him on the shoulder. “Can I see that real quickly?”’
    “Sure.”
As soon as he looked away, I hurriedly ripped out the flyer. When I went to hand him back his magazine, he was gone. (Well that was weird). I folded up the piece of paper and stuck it in my shirt. I smiled at Jennifer who just gave me a weird look.
“We get to go backstage with The Puppets tonight!” I screamed.
“Are you freaking serious?” she said shaking me.
    “Yes!”
“Well, then I’m definitely wearing the skirt.”
“I call dibs on Quinn and his lush puppy!”
“Dang! Well I guess I’m going after Milo.”
