• Sakura’s long white hair fluttered behind her as the wind began to pick up. The honking of cars below broke the heavy silence. It was only a few minutes past midnight, and the city has yet to go to sleep. Sakura was just watching the cars from above, her tears dried on her red cheeks. Her mind was blank, she couldn’t even remember why she was crying. Yet her body refused to move and get her out such a dark place. She shifted her gaze to the sky which had become darker from the rain clouds gathering over head.

    I
Sakura smiled as she dashed out of the crowded school yard. It was the first day of summer and she was already loving it. She had barely passed all her classes and was in the mood for some relaxation. She took out several coins counting them quickly before she headed to the corner store. If summer was coming she would have to stalk up on something to munch on all day. Nothing was going to stop her from having a good time messing around all day online. She was already falling behind on her game time and needed to catch up.

“Alright I spent two dollars on soda and three dollars on gummy snakes and pocky. Now I just need to regulate my spending until I get my next allowance. Easy.” Sakura smiled humming as she munched on the pocky stick in her mouth. As she reached the old boat park she sat down on a bench and just munched on pocky sticks. “It’s just the beginning of the summer. How can It be so hot out!” She sighed grabbing a bottle of green soda. “You would think that there would be some wind to cool down the people who have to walk such a long way.” The sky darkened slightly as a fluffy white cloud passed in front of it.

“My, my look at what we have here. Is this a Miss Sakura Hamichi?” A shorter girl grinned as she stood over Sakura who had laid down on the bench.

“I’m not Sakura. My name is bob.” Sakura grinned back as she looked up at the shorter girl.

“If your name is Bob then mine is Queen Victoria.” The girl chuckled as she mimicked a royal person.

“I’m sure Queen Victoria would be wearing a long puffy dress and be inside a giant cold castle drinking tea and eating crumpets right now, Nina.” Nina smiled as she backed up enough so Sakura could sit up strait on the bench.

“How would you know if Queen Victoria liked those things? For all you know she could love shorts a T-shirt and bags of candy.” Nina chuckled as she sat down next to Sakura rummaging threw the bag of candy.

“If you are going to have something make sure you pay me a few coins. I have to be able to buy more if you eat them all.” Sakura pulled out vanilla pocky from the other back handing it to Nina before she found the blue snakes in the bag.

“It will be worth it. Besides I saw a hot guy over by the tree eyeing you.” Nina grinned wildly as she pointed with the pocky stick she just took out over at two large trees. “What’s really weird is that he was wearing black. I mean who wears black when it’s summer.”

“It just turned summer a few minutes ago. Who knows. The guy could just be shading himself from the harsh sunlight.” Sakura pursed her lips as she took a sip of the sweet green liquid from the bottle in her hand.

“I don’t know the expression on his face said he was following you. I think you have a secret admirer.”

“I do not! If I did have one I would expect him to come forth instead of being like a stalker and watching from a distance.”

“That’s the point of secret admirers. They are suppose to be secret.” Hizo glanced over at the tree and smirked. “Don’t look now but here he comes.”

“I doubt he would come over here. If secret admirers are suppose to be secret why would he come over here?” Sakura folded her arms leaning back crossing one of her pale skinny legs over the other.

“I really think he has the hots for you.” Hizo giggled mischievously.

“Alright I know when you are about to go to far. Lets drop the subject.”

“And what would the subject be about ladies?” Sakura looked toward the man dressed in black and blushed wildly. His hair was black and cut perfectly short for someone of his size. Even threw the trench coat he wore sakura could see his strong muscles. He was in her opinion the perfect man.

“Oh uh nothing. We where just uh.. Talking about math at school. How Irritating it is to memories all the different ways to solve one equations then put it to the test on these long, frustrating equations that make no sense.” Sakura smiled nervously as she stuttered threw the first few words.

“Ah Algebra. Not surprising you find it irritating. All the ways to solve the equations are useless. You just need to remember what numbers go into what and you’ll be fine.” The man said as he looked towards the not to distant mountains. “Oh Excuse. I have yet to properly introduce myself. I’m Naoe Sanada, former Junior at Mountain top high school. I’ll be a senior next year.”

“Pleasure to meet you. The name’s Sakura Hamichi. Former Sophomore at Hiroshima high school. This is Nina Maroshi, It’s the same for her.” Sakura clutched the bottle like an ape was about to come along and steal it.

“I see. Sakura, a very pretty name you have. Just like the pink flowers over head which your cheeks mimic.” Naoe smiled as she watched Sakura’s reaction. “I am not surprised your parents named you the most lovely flower in japan. Considering how lovely you are.” Sakura blushed even more turning her gaze to the ground. Nina elbowed her in the side gently grinning as if to say ‘I told ya so.’ Sakura stomped on Nina’s foot to keep her from saying anything.

“Uh that’s very flattering but I believe Nina and I have to get going. Our parents will yell at us if we are late getting back.” Sakura mumbled as she quickly stood up grabbing her bags with shaking hands. “It was very nice to meet you.” Sakura quickly bowed before rushing off towards a hidden path only she knew of. Nina followed with a large grin on her face.

“What was that about?” Nina asked as if already knowing the answer to the question.

“I’m not going to talk about it. I don’t want to see that man again.” Sakura clutched the bags looking threw them carefully counting the amount of items in them.

“I think he was flirting with you. He obviously likes you. Why not go out with him? If you don’t go out with him you know what I will do.”

“Oh no, no, no, no! You aren’t going to do anything. If you so much as try to set me up I will strangle you.” Sakura jumped when she felt a tap on her shoulder. A large man in uniform folded his arms making him appear larger.

“What about strangling young miss?” The man said in a gruff deep voice.

“I was just kidding.” Sakura bit her bottom lip before speaking again. “I was just a little scared. A man walked up to me out of the blue and started speaking to me like I was an old friend. I didn’t even know him.”

“I see. What did this man look like?” The man showed a gold badge before taking out a pencil and a piece of paper. “I need a clear description of him so I can see if he has record.” Sakura hesitated for a moment touching her chin. She looked around before she started to describe Naoe.

“Alright miss. I’ll let you know if this guy is bad. I suggest you head home now.” The officer nodded folding the piece of paper, putting it in his pocket.

“Alright. Thank you very much. Oh one more thing. He mentioned something about him being called Naoe Sanada. I hope that helps.” Sakura said before she bowed and walked off.

“Why did you report the guy to the police?” Nina gave sakura a questioning look.

“Stalking is illegal. If he is stalking me he will be put into jail for three years.”

    “That seems harsh.”

“It’s not harsh it’s the law.”

“Alright. Lets drop it. Here’s my street. I’ll see ya some other time.” Nina turned and waved before she walked down the long rich houses.

    Three days later

Sakura woke up with a start nearly falling of her bed. A loud beeping sound had woken her up. Her looked at the clock growling. The cursed to her self turning of the alarm before walking over to another slightly smaller room. There a small form was laying covered in thin fuzzy blankets. Sakura walked over to the bed grabbing the pillow from under the head of a kid. The kid woke up giggling almost. Sakura hit the giggling kid twice with the pillow walking towards the door.

“Let that be a warning next time you try to set my alarm clock for six in the morning.” Sakura kept the lights on walking back to her room only to find Naoe sitting on her computer chair. For a moment she didn’t pay any mind to him. She lied down on the bed yawning tiredly before jumping almost screaming at Naoe.

“How did you get in here?” She shouted looking at him in surprise.

“I just walked in threw the front door. Your father was going to work and we bumped into each other. I told him I was a friend of yours and he let me in.” He said calmly as he picked up a small jar of Ioline Sakura left on her shelves with all the other jars of rocks she liked to collect.

“I told him not to let a guy with black hair and pale skin in.” She growled.

“I didn’t have black hair at the time nor pale skin.”

“At the time? What do you mean at the time?”

“Meaning I can shift forms at will.”

“Prove it then.” Naoe smiled at her words as he stood up. in a matter of moments his skin became a shade of dark tan and his hair turned blond. It was like he had just got of the beach. Sakura started flipping out running out of the room into her sister’s. She shook her sister violently glancing back at the door.

“Wake up! We have to get out of here! There’s a demon in the house!” She started hitting her little sister with a pillow before her mom came out looking at Sakura in surprise.

“What’s going on? Why must you shout so early in the morning?” Sakura’s mom asked.

“There’s a demon in the house!” Sakura looked at her door seeing Naoe stair at the three of them with a wide grin. He still had the Dark tan skin and blond hair.

“Sakura It’s not nice to call this man a demon.”

“He is a demon! H-He shift shapes! He had black hair and white skin before!”

“You probably mean years ago before he got a tan.”

“No, no she’s correct I am a demon. The proof is with the combat boots.” He smirked as he shifted into his original form. Not knowing what to do Sakura’s mom grabbed a cross Sakura had made as a project for her history class during school.

“Get back before I call the police or a priest!” Sakura’s mom shouted.

“Mom.. What’s a priest going to do in this situation.” Sakura protested. Naoe sighed as the wooden cross Sakura’s mom was holding splintered as it got near him.

“Not the best idea to hold that thing so close to me. Now I need to tell Miss sakura something that you may deny it. But if you so try to speak your mouth will be sealed shut.” He paused for a few moments folding his arms. “I’m a messenger of the hidden organization D.E.M.O.N.S. This Organization has chosen Miss Sakura to join them. She has a gift you see, a gift that allows her to predict, and act on battle. This gift can harm one’s mind if such ways that they will occasionally see the future, or will act out violently. If this gift is used every day for the forcible future, her I.Q. will boost twenty times the average human capacity.” Naoe paused to let the information he was telling them to sink in. “This is why we need Sakura to come with us, so she can practice this skill. If she doesn’t you might find her going mad.”
“We’ll take our chances. Sakura call the police.” Sakura’s mother ordered in a stern voice.

“Isn’t it my choice weather to go with him or not? I’m sixteen after all.” Sakura protested.

“I’m still your mother until you turn eighteen do as I say!” She ordered again.

“She wont be gone all the time. Just from seven in the morning to two fifteen in the afternoon. It’s a traditional school day.” Naoe sighed frustrated.

“How is she suppose to get to this place? I can’t drive her many miles for her to get to what ever place she is going. I have work Mondays to Fridays.” Sakura’s mo protested.

“No need. Her room will be altered so her room will take her to the place every morning then back.”

“I still wont pay for it. I put all my money on the line so she can get into a better collage.”

“She will get the best education there can be when she joins the other gifted students.”

“Mom Let me go with them. If I get to see what this institute is I might just like it.” Sakura pleaded.

“I can begin a tour. Our ride has just arrived outside.” Naoe gestured towards the front door. The sounds of a large truck could be heard from inside. “Sakura will come for two days. We will have her back unharmed.”

“She will not be going!” Sakura’s mom said again.

“It’s not your choice mom. I want to see this school. I want to see if this is the place I have been imagining all this time.”

Sakura bites her lip as she walks out side and into the large truck. “Don’t expect me to be your little girl forever. I’m leaving to see this school weather you like it or not.”

“I guess it’s determined. Off we go then.” Naoe walked out the door into the truck. As the door of the truck swung shut it took off at full speed without leaving any tire marks. Hours past and all Sakura saw was passing towns and tumble weeds. Before Sakura knew it the truck was on a dirt path.
