• (L.joe's POV)

Flowers. They are so important in life and I always felt that they were such an under appreciated thing of joy. Not only that this cynical world has made it even harder to have people appreciate them. In weddings, the flower pieces are an important part of the ceremony; carrying the theme and the message that the bridal couple wants to convey to their guests. So when the florist called me and told me that they were not able to meet the initial order of a thousand calla lilies, I panicked. This wedding theme was centred around those flowers and not being able to have them as the centrepiece for decorations would mean all the hard work I had put into this wedding is going to fall apart. If there was anything that I’ve learned about working in this business for the past five years is that to succeed, one must make sure everything is perfect, even the smallest detail.

“L.Joe,” my assistant, Soeun called to me just as I was arranging the central flower arrangement, “There’s someone here saying she needs to talk to you.” “Eh? Are they from the caterers?” I asked, not looking up. I’ve learned how to handle talking to people even while I’m doing things and I hate to leave a work unfinished.

“No...” “From the decorators?” “No,” a new voice broke in, “I’m from T.O.P and I need to know...” “Oh, you’re doing a write-up for the couple right?” I interrupted her, reaching for another lily, “I know, I know, Della the bride told me that she needs to...” “No, that not it...” the woman replied... “Then are you doing a piece on the hotel? I can give you a...” "Lee Byunghun shi!” she practically snapped, “Will you STOP interrupting me.” “Eh?” This time I DID look up. She stormed up to me and shoved a clipboard right under my nose, “YOU have an interview with my program at three o’clock just now which you ditch without earlier notice. I came to find out why.” I didn’t see the clipboard. All I saw was her. An angel.

No wait, a very angry looking angel whose brilliant chestnut coloured eyes were flashing sparks. Her long black hair shimmered like a midnight coloured waterfall and her cheeks were flushed like the first apples of the harvest. s**t... I think I’m in love. “Well?” she snapped, shaking the clipboard.

“Oh... that,” I said, taking the clipboard from her and looking at the document attached there. It was a schedule and in one of the time slots, my name was circled in red pen. There were a few other things on the schedule as well but before I could study them further, she had grabbed the clipboard back. “Yes, THAT,” she told me tersely, “And may I know what is the reason you decided not to show up?” I picked up one of the calla lilies that I had been arranging and held it up, “The flowers didn’t arrive on time.” The look on the woman’s face was one of incredulous disbelief. The red flush started from the bottom of her neck, creeping up to her ears. For a moment, she looked like she might burst. Soeun even took a step back in alarm. The woman took a step closer to me, her eyes gleaming dangerously, “Are you telling me you flaked out on the interview for... for a bunch of FLOWERS???” “Pretty much,” I told her seriously. “Pretty much!?” ~~~~~ could hardly believe her ears. Was this man absolutely mad? She was cancelled on without prior notice because of... of flowers???

    [no one's POV]

“Miss...” he started and his assistant quickly supplied her name for him. “-----~~~~~.” “-----~~~~~shi,” he told her calmly, “You probably think that flowers are a small issue.” “I... uh...” she responded, realising that her actions were obvious what she thought anyway, so why bother protesting. “Look around you,” he told her, waving to the hall, “Tell me, do the flowers look like they are a small issue?” His words made her take a small step back and that was the first time ~~~~~ really took in the hall that she was standing in. The tables, the walls – everything were decorated with the long stem white lilies, the flowers nodding in greeting to her and the words she had initially died on her lips. Why was her temper always getting the better of her ~~~~~ wondered as the man smiled slightly, realising that the initial rage had surely dissipated. He cleared his throat, bringing her attention back to him. “So I apologise again, but I’ll be more than happy to reschedule an interview with you after this wedding. Say sometime next week?” “Maybe you’re not too clear on how TV programs work Lee Byunghun shi ,” she sighed, “Your interview is suppose to go on air tomorrow. An interview next week won’t help now would it? But I suppose that can’t be helped. Have a good day then Lee Byunghun shi and I’m sorry for having taken up your time.” “L.Joe.” “Eh?”

“Call me L.joe. Everyone else does.” “I’m not particularly known to do what everyone else does Lee Byunghun shi,” she responded, “And as for the interview, we’ll see about it because the Choices section is already filled for the next three months after.” “Oh,” he replied, his face falling. So there’s no excuse for him to see her again was there? As she walked out of the hall L.joe could not tear his eyes from her departing back, the sway of her hips and the fluttering of her hair. He was a goner. “Oi, L.Joe. Earth to L.Joe,” Soeun called to him, snapping her fingers in front of his face. “What?” he asked her irritatedly only to find her grinning broadly at him. “Correct me if I’m wrong but you got it bad for her already haven’t you?” “You think?” he grinned at her as Soeun began to laugh. Yeah. She’s right though. He’s got it bad.
