• "Hey, Old Man! We're here!" I shouted towards the back of the room that me and Karnage had just entered. It was a little shack, no bigger than the average bedroom. We had to duck to enter through the door it was so small.

"I'm in the back!" came a reply. It was an old and scraggly voice, but it was strong; the voice of someone who had lived for quite some time.

"Well, hurry! Stupid here made an appointment and we have to go!" Karnage jabbed me in the side at me calling her 'stupid', but I ignored it.

"I'm grabbing some stuff now. They can wait for you!" He sounded almost tired. Must have had a busy day.

"Is he okay?" whispered Karnage. I looked down at her, seeing a concerned look on her face. I smiled. A drug dealer that was so worried about others. It just wasn't normal.

"I'm fine, just tired from the rush," the old man explained, emerging from a curtain in the middle of the wall. "Those damn meetings of yours just piss me off. All the newbies need the newest stuff to keep themselves in business. Just too much for an old man to handle."

"We're really sorry, but I need this stuff right away," Karnage started, not giving the old man a chance to continue his rant. She's learnt well from me, I guess. She handed him a list that she had scribbled on a piece of paper. I glanced at it earlier, and sighed at the atrocious writing.

"Hmm.. I have to see if I have this in, but I'm not sure about the third one.." The old man scratched his stubbly chin, the wrinkles in his forehead growing wider with thought. He stared at the list then sighed a few moments later.

"That's not a good sigh..." I murmered, worried that Karnage wouldn't make her deal after all.

"Good news is that I have everything you need, but the sigh was because I can't believe I am providing a nice couple like you things like this that can and wll get you killed one day." The man stood, scratching the stain on his once-white shirt where his beer gut would have been.

"Trust me," I began, "if I had a choice, I would be out of it in a heartbeat. But for now I can't. I'm doing this for Karnage, and you know that, Old Man."

"Got her knocked up?" the old man said with a smirk. I glared him down while Karnage sat there, wide-eyed at the old man possibly knowing what we've done.

"Not yet. But if you don't go get our stuff, I think that I'll do it right in front of you, hoping you have a heart-attack." I stared him down, hoping he would get the hint. He stood, walked to the curtain, faced us, winked, and disappeared.

"How does he know?" Karnage whispered as she leaned over to me, worried about the old man coming back.

"We've been together for five years. What do most couples do when they've been together for this long?" I looked her in the eye, grabbed her chin and reached in for a kiss, but I never got it.

    "But we haven't.."

    "That's because we're waiting."

"Okay, lovers, I got the stuff." The old man appeared, staring us down from the other side of the table. His eyes lit up as he watched us, brushing noses. Karnage jolted away from me, but I stayed where I was.

"Now can you leave us?" I hissed, turning slowly towards him.

    "Have you really not-"

    "Leave. Now."

    "You're in my store."

"Fine." I grabbed for the box and practically ran out the door. Karnage had to stay and say good-bye. Of course.
