• "Tora looked up, with her gray green eyes there was no difference between sky and ground. The fog was so thick, she couldn't see her hand in front of her face. "TAMEN!!! LUKE!!!...IF YOU DON'T GET BACK HERE I'M GONNA KILL YOU TWO!" Tora yelled in desperation. The fog pressed in, it seemed as though it were laughing, taunting her. Tora started walking very slowly, she knew what it meant to lose your friends in this forest, if they didn't respond, they were dead. She was probably going to end up dead too, still she would not believe they were dead until she got out. Getting dizzy, she walked faster, she could not afford to stop. No one knew what was in this forest, they never saw it, but they all knew it was bad. She was running now, running and panting heavily. The tree came out of nowhere, Tora didn't have time to stop. "Um." was all she could get out before her head collided with the tree.

    "Finally awake, I see."
"I wonder what color her eyes will be."
"Her dream must have been horrid."
"Why do they make you dream when it's already over?"
"Huh." Tora opened her eyes and looked around. She was still in the forest but...the fog was gone, and she was surrounded by people. "What...why am I-" Tora started. "Running doesn't seem to be good for your health." A young man said with a laugh. He had mint blue eyes that seemed...cruel. The rest of him seemed insignificant compared to the eyes, muted. She looked at the others they had the same look vivid, cruel eyes, but everything else muted, it was like the rest of them wasn't even there...they didn't even seem to have a skin tone. Getting up she shook off grass and other debris from the ground. "What's...wrong with you guys?" she asked looking at them. "Oooh, purple." one of them said, ignoring her question. "What do you mean, purple?" she responded. "Look." one of them said, pointing to a puddle. She walked over and looked down. "See, purple." came a smug voice from the crowd. Tora gasped, "But...my eyes...are..." she trailed off. "Not anymore," said the man with mint blue eyes, as he moved ominously towards her. "You were troublesome, disobeying your village rules. Such a shame though, you were so young. Oh, well your one of us now." Tora looked around confused, then it hit her, what had happened. "No. NO! I'M NOT." Tora started running. "It's okay, let her go." the mint blue eyes man said. She tore through the forest. "TAMEN! TAMEN!!! LUKE!!!" Tora stopped, dead in her track. Below her she saw Tamen and Luke crying...next to her body which was sliced through with a sword. "Tamen, we should go back now." Luke said. Tamen looked up and nodded. Tora gasped, Tamen's once magnificent purple eyes...were gray. "Told you so." came a voice from behind her."

"Tamen, is that story true?" a young, skeptical girl asked me.
"It could be," I said with a yawn, “But whatever you do stay away from those forests at all costs.” Luke approached me as the children headed into their houses. “Yes?” I asked him. “It still scares me how you can do that.” He remarked.
“I just sense the vibrations in the air, and it’s not hard to ‘see’ in a place I’m used to.”
    “I’m sorry.”
“About what, that day, or my eyes?”
    “Both.”
    “It’s okay, sometimes it’s better.”
    “What is?”
“Not seeing,” I said. “sometimes, if I can’t see, I can pretend it didn’t happen, that Tora isn’t…”
    “One of them?” Luke suggested.
    “Yeah.”
