    ~The Darkness Descends~
    Epilogue

______The darkness surrounded him, clawing and scratching him, prohibiting him from leaving the dark hell he had been contained in for years, only now making his escape. A devilish laugh filled the air as he reached the end of a cliff, nearly falling into the fiery pits below. The darkness closed in even further, and he stretched his arm out across the chasm, veins straining within his muscular limb.
______Speaking in an ancient tongue, he said, “With my life, goes my light; soon to find the Pure One.” And with that, a small orb of dim, fading light wisped from his hand as the darkness overtook his body, imprisoning him in stone forever.

    ~Chapter One~

______Hey, you know that popular guy? The one that gets all the girls? Tall, dark, and handsome, with rippling muscles, dark brown hair and blue eyes? Well, I am not that guy. I am that loser that sits around, wishing he was that guy while he plays World of Warcraft with his lame, loser friends online. Well, that’s not completely true; I play Runescape, the W.O.W knockoff, without friends. I’m that kid that the nerds avoid because I’m “weird.” Hi, I'm Leon Arc. I'm around five feet nine inches tall. I have relatively short, wavy brown hair. I am half blind, so I obviously wear glasses.
______As I said before, I am not muscular, quite scrawny in fact. I have the average 16 year old male’s metabolism, except it’s kicked into overdrive. My eyes are brown and my wardrobe consists of either a black or gray T-shirt with a black or gray sweatshirt, and blue jeans. I am very socially awkward, and the girl of my dreams, Sasha Fayte, is dating Zach Demyx, the latest and greatest “Mob boss,” as he likes to call himself, although it’s just a crew of his five other friends who wear their pants down to their ankles and have their hats either sideways with a flat bill, or hats so large they come down to their jaw, with a flat bill. But, on the bright side, I am Zach’s “nerd assistant,” and I have to do his homework for him. Why is that a good thing you ask? Because he’s always hanging around Sasha, so I get to see her a lot. I know it’s sad, but it’s the only way I can see her without getting my face pounded in.
______“Hey Nerd! Get over here!” Zach called. Hold on a second, I’ll be right back, alright?
    “Yes?” I asked.
______“Yes, Sir” He said in a condescending tone.
    ______“Yes sir?” I echoed.
“I need you to run an errand for me. Sasha just called and needs her books and her backpack brought to her. See to it that nothing happens to them.”
______“Yes sir!” I said, almost giving away my enthusiasm.
“And bring me a beer while you’re at it.”
______“Yes sir, whatever you say, sir,” I said. I got on my rickety bike that Zach “permitted” me to have, and sped down to Sasha’s house, about five or six miles away. It was nearing dusk when I headed out, and by the time I covered two miles uphill, it was mostly dark. I peddled down the road and I saw a light, and, thinking it was a car, I pulled over to the side. I kept watching the light, and I realized it was heading for me. I jumped off the bike and did a lame dive to the right, into a ditch, covering my head as I hit the ground. When I didn’t hear anything, I stood and looked up. There was a strange ball of dim light hovering above me, as if waiting for me to do something.
______“H-hello?” I stammered. Then, at the speed of light, the ball charged at me, ramming into my chest. I fell backwards, knocking myself unconscious on a rock.
______I awoke to the usual honking of cars in traffic, my head throbbing from what had happened the night before. What had happened? I thought. I looked down at the slightly bloody rock, and concluded that I swerved into the ditch and knocked myself unconscious. I crawled back up to the road to discover that my bike had been stolen, but luckily, the backpack was still there. I started hiking to Sasha's house, knowing that if I didn’t deliver, Zach was going to “educate” me, meaning he was going to pound me until I learned my lesson.
