• A strangled breath.

    BANG!

Eyes with the colour of the sky...

    -Flashback-

    “Hey! Minna!”

I looked up, seeing Jaik on a helicopter that was hovering a few feet above me. He was waving as the helicopter rose further up, and I offered a small wave in return, knowing that we will never meet again, much to my pretence. I watched them go with forlorn hope in my eyes.

“We’ll meet again, after the war,” I whispered to the wind, “I promise...”

Hit by hit, we raged on.

Crimson water stained my clothes, my sword, my face.

    Innocence was gone.

    Bloodshed was Peace.

    Agony was Happiness.

    Nothing was the same anymore.

My frail innocence, gone, replaced by this war vessel.

A puppet whose strings are on the verge of breaking.

    Metal against metal.

    Blood against blood.

    A never-ending cycle of Death.

Pain radiated through my chest so suddenly, and I knew that I would never reach my goal. My vision blurred, and being the last of our army, I was given special treatment by the leader of the opposed army.

Looming over me, a smirk radiated his lips, and I could see on his hand, though blurred, a sword. He raised it, above me, and with speed and strength, plunged down to the place in which I had failed to keep my promise.

    My heart...

“Ne, Minna? We’ll see each other soon, right? After the war?”

    “We will.”

    “Promise?”

    “Promise...”
