• Kaden squeezed my shoulder as he opened the door. We stepped inside Dr. Luka’s empty office.

“Dad!” Kaden called. “Dad, where are you?”

He walked around and looked on his father’s desk. He picked up a small card and read it. I watched as Kaden’s face went from shock to rage. Kaden slammed his fist down on the table and yelled, “KUSAIDEN!”

“Kaden, what’s wrong?” I said, worried.

“Your brother took my father to Wolfinia,” Kaden growled. He shoved the card at me. “Kusaiden. Nmi erieno.”

I looked at the card. It had lines and shapes all over it. This was confusing. I couldn’t read it.

    “Kaden, I can’t read it,” I whispered.

“It says, ‘Luka. I have taken your father because you seem to have one of us. Give her back, and I will return your father to you unharmed. I know you’ll make the right decision. With love, Stephan.’”

I stared at the card again. My brother kidnapped Kiiro Luka because they had me, a girl they had never met and never really tried to make contact with. I rolled my eyes. This day just got stupider and stupider. I couldn’t believe that I was actually related to these people.

“Well, let’s go,” I said turning toward the door.

“What are you talking about?” Kaden said incredulously. “I’m not giving you to that scum.”
“That ‘scum’ is apparently my family,” I hissed at him. “Don’t you want your father back? If we just agree to their terms we can go and get him back and I can just follow you our. They can’t keep me there.”

“That’s where you’re wrong, Anion! They will keep you. They will arrest you and imprison you. I won’t let you go through that.”

“You’re saying my father will imprison his long lost daughter right on sight?”

“If it keeps you away from me. I need to find Damon and Marcus.”

He grabbed my wrist and stormed out of the office. I didn’t know where we were going. Kaden opened a pannel in the wall across from the hallway where there was a ladder.

“Climb,” he ordered me as he went in.

I climbed after him for what seemed like forever. There was a metal hatch at the end. Kaden opened it and we went through. Marcus and Damon were sitting in the metal room that we had just come into with worried looks on their faces.

“Stephan Serano took our father to Wolfinia,” Kaden said immediately. “Anion wants to storm right into Black Hole Fortress and do the trade right away.”

“Which is what we should do,” Damon interjected.

“Shut up, Damon,” Kaden shot at him. “Now, I’m not going to let that happen. God knows what Kiconio will do to Anion once he has her. What I think we should do is sneak in and get dad out. That way they will just think he escaped.”

“Yeah, but they’re going to know where dad will run away to,” Marcus said swiftly. “Also, they’ll know it was us. Only a Serano can get in and out of BlackHole Fortress without anyone knowing. When we go in it will set off the bio sensor.”

    Kaden snarled.
