• Dave rushed out of his house and frantically searched around the house. He checked Troy's doghouse but found nothing. He ran quickly over to the edge of the woods and searched over there. He noticed footprints heading through the woods, the ones he saw earlier. He decided it was probably a bad idea to follow these foot prints. If this thing was real, maybe it took Troy? He walked back inside, locked the doors and windows, and then sat at the foot of his bed. He looked down at his feet, and thought about what Jason said. Out of the corner of his eye he saw the rock that was thrown through the window. He picked it up and examined it closely. This was no ordinary rock. It was red in color, and had the texture of gold. He tossed the strange rock onto the floor, laid down and fell asleep.
The next morning Dave woke up extra late, as he did not get a whole lot of sleep the night before.
"Oh, come on! I'm gonna be late for work!"
Dave jumped out of bed, and changed his clothes quickly. He ran out of the room, then ran back in to it. He looked on the ground for the rock, and tossed into his bag. He ran out to his car and drove to work.
At work, nobody knew anything or had even seen a rock like that before. Except one person. Dave walked to his office and knocked on the door.
"Come in!", the voice from inside said.
    Dave entered the room.
    "oh, Dave, whats up dude?"
Dave slammed the rock down on the desk.
    "Jason, what is this?"
Jason picked up the rock and carefully examined it.
"Well, at first glance it looks like gold. But its red in color, so It cant be gold right?"
    "Yea, thats why I'm confused."
"Well, back in the 1800's there was a small gold company in this area that would specialize in the finding and making of rare and valuable things, such as gold. When they were making the gold they had to make a dye for it, to make it appear as gold. From time to time they would screw up the recipe, and the rock would turn out looking like this."
    "So its fake gold?"
"Yea Dave, its probably worth like $100, just because of the history behind it."
"Where exactly was this gold company located?"
    "Blood Mountain."
"I was afraid you would say that Jason."
    "Why?"
"Well Troy got dog napped last night and I saw a big dark creature running away, along with some huge footsteps."
    Jasons phone rang.
"Oh dude, I gotta take this. We'll talk later."
Dave left the room and walked to his desk. He typed in on google, Blood Mountain. The first result talked about Blood Mountain Gold company. It was doing good until it was robbed by dark figures. The only stolen thing was a legendary sword used during the Civil War.
The next results talked about people, things, and pets going missing from this area. For about 50 years this has been happening. In 1990 a group of 5 people, who all were missing friends, family members, or pets, climbed the mountain and never returned. A police team searched up there in 1991 and found nothing out of the ordinary. They said there were places beyond reach that nobody could have gotten up to. 1 police officer went missing during the investigation and the US federal government condemned the mountain and closed it off to the public.
Dave knew that whatever lives up on Blood Mountain is what has been taking everything, and everybody. He knew he had to go to Blood Mountain. He wrote on a piece of paper:

    Jason-
Going to Blood Mountain to find Troy. Don't try to stop me, but if you want to help meet me at the creek where those kids went missing tonight at 6:00.
    -Dave

Dave slid that under neath Jasons door and then went home to get ready.
