• Little BlueBird
Here she sits, perched as always on her stand, waiting and watching the window for a chance to escape. Three days it has been since she last flew in the open air. She sits quietly staring at the window, remembering how it felt to fly, to have the wind run through her feathers, her bright blue feathers. She remembers how great the sun felt on her body, how good food she cuaght herself tasted. She doesn't eat much here, it feels wrong to her to take something she didnt work for. She longs for the affections of her mate.
"Hello little blue bird", says the boy with the brown hair, "Did you miss me? I missed you! School was long and boring.." He strokes her feathers, but even though he is gentle it scares the little bluebird. She hides in a dark corner. The boy opens the window to let in some light, as the bulb had blown out the other day. Seeing what could be her only chance, she flies as fast as she can. She flies past the shadows, past the perch, and past the boy who now has a look of surprise on his face, out the window she flies.
She sets herself on a tree in view of the little boy's window. She waits for a minute or two, getting her energy and looking for any signs of her mate. Then, on the third minute, another bluebird flies to the tree, a male. It is her mate, her love. They sit together rubbing their heads together in affection. The boy watches, now with a slight smile, he undestands now and just watches as they fly away together. "goodbye little blue"
