• __Darkness coaxed the trees to whisper. My hair danced in front of my face as I walk down the tree lined walkway. As I find that my jacket cannot get close enough to me, a voice echoes into my ears. "What's a pretty thing like you doing in a dark place like this?" I turned and saw a lean man, a smile plastered across his face as his soft black hair fell over his eyes. My face burned at the sight of him.
__My voice cracked as I asked, "Who are you?" The man snickered.
__"I'm a friend, don't worry about that," he soothed me, extendind his hand. Looking at the man with worry, I gradually took his hand in mine. His skin was warm against mine. He placed my hand in the crook of his arm and walked with me. I kept looking at my feet, feeling sleepier and sleepier with every step we took together. He stopped and gazed at me, "My dear, you don't look well at all. Are you alright?" His expresion turned shocked when everything else turned blank. A frighteing blackness filled my vision.

__When I woke up the next day, I was in a strang bed. My clothes from the night before had been changed. I now wore a long, pink nightgown. Walking out of the room, I saw a hall that lead to a staircase. It lead to a landing that lead to three different rooms. One room was a dinning room and this is where the man sat at a long, wood table. He was reading a newspaper before he looked up and rushed to me. "Hun, are you feeling any better? You collapsed in the park and I didn't know what else to do, so I brought you to my house and had my sister change your cold clothes. I hope you don't mind. I was just trying to . . . help," the man trailed off as he looked me in the eyeswith genuine worry. I put a hand on his cheeck and stared at him.
__"What's your name?" I murmmered. His eyes widened and he cleared his throat before he could answer.
__"Jamison. Benjiman Jamison," he chuckled and looked away as he took my hand from his face. Holding it in both of his, he brought my hand close to his chest, "What is your name, hun?"
    __I looked at him blankly, "My name is . . . My name is . . ."
__The man looked even more concerned than before, "You don't know, do you. It is to be expected. I asked a doctor what happened and he said that during sometime before I saw you in the park, you had hit your head. He said that it was a good thing that I found you because if you had been there alone, you would have froze to death. You have amnesia, my dear." I stared at Benjiman with sadness. I couldn't help but want to cry. Without thinking, I wrapped my arms around him and weeped into his shirt. He held m close as he whispered in my ear, "Why are you crying?"
__"I have this strange feeling that I know you, that I had something really important to say to you," I clutched his shirt.
    __"What is it?"
__"Yes. Yes Ben," I told him, and he held me tighter as brought me to his knees with him. I rubbed my face against his broad chest as he kissed my head, the action felt so natural. "What am I saying yes to?"I asked him.
__Benjiman sucked some air and licked his lips as he told me, "Your name is Kala. I've loved you sine highschool. Yesterday I asked you to marry me and you were so over whelmed that you had to go for a walk. . . You didn't come back for some time, so I went out looking for you. When I found you, you were breathing hard and I didn't know what was wrong with you. Then you collapsed and I rushed you to my place. I thought I was going to lose you." Ben- the name that flowed more easily through my mind held me tighter.
__"And no you come- with no memory- and tell me yes . . . Kala, I love you. I love you so much," the sound of my name sparked recognition. I nuzzeled into his shoulder and sat there with him, letting his warmth take me in. I wanted to stay like this forever.
__I smiled at him and said, "I love you, too, Ben. There's one other thing that I remeber." I brought Ben's hand to my stomach and he stared at me, doumbfounded. He looked at his hand then up at me again.
__With an amazed grin, he asked, "Really?" I nodded and he pulled me even closer. Kissing me softly, I found that as long as I had my love with me, could re-remember everything that I had forgotten and I could be happy.
