• Walking down the dirt path the trees loomed beautifully overhead and the leaves fell slowly one by one until they reached the ground. About an inch before they reached the ground, each leaf waited for the other until there was a small collage of leaves spiraling in the wind looking as if they were a mini colorful tornado that was ever so peacful to watch. I continued walking down the path waiting for what else I may see. I reached a fountain that had cute little birds splashing in the fountain bathing themselves in the nice cool water that glistened in the beautiful fall light. The sun made the water shine across my face slightly blinding me as I paused there to observe the birds. I moved on past the birds. I quietly hummed as I past a small group of pigeons being fed by two little old ladies sitting on a park bench chatting about their children and about how much more grown up they are. I reached a certain area of the park that seemed unfamiliar , it was desolate not one person nor animal was to be found. My smile came to a halt as I walked farther and farther down this dirt path that seemed to lead nowhere but emptiness. My heart which was once at peace had grown into worry and sorrow. This place, where ever I was was no longer the same peaceful place I had just visited it was something different something unexplainable. This place was a nightmare, everywhere I turned there was nothing just trees that had no life whatsoever in them almost as if I was in a whole different world. I paused for a second wondering if I should even continue walking or turn back to return to the the peacefull little park that I had come to know and love. I decided to go back, this place was for someone like me to be alone in. As I walked back I notice something, the forest began to look darker and darker as if I was walking farther down into the forest I had just came from. I walked a couple more feet and I still saw darkness, I heard light footsteps behind me coming closer and closer. My heart began to race at full speed, someone was coming. I stood there quietly hoping that that someone would turn back the other way, I closed my eyes and when I opened them I was at home laying on my bed in a pool of sweat. Was that a dream? So I put on my jeans and sweatshirt and made my way down to the park, something in my head told me to go to the park maybe because of my dream. As I reached the park all of the sudden my heart began to pound and ache as if I was being stabbed I quickly made my way to a park bench and waited for my heart to settle down. I began to remember my dream, I could have sworn it was real. I decided to walk down there again and see if it was real. All I had to do is walk down to the more wooded area and then come right back. I walked down the path, saw everything and did everything I did in my dream. Then I reached my point it was real, but something told me to go farther down the path. As I walked down the path I saw the same lifelessness I saw when I first came, but something was different there was a lake farther down the road so I went. Once I got there I saw beauty but as I looked into the water I saw faces and bodies I thought I was seeing things. So I closed my eyes and opened them again and found myself in my room again. I don’t know if these were dreams I was having or If this was real, this dream or whatever it was became a ritual, I would walk down to see if the place was real close my eyes then land back in my bed sweating. I found both end to be fairly peaceful so I decided to spend the rest of my ghost life in the peaceful park with all the others in the lake.
