• "Lolita! Get your a** down here!" I heard my 'mother' scream. I sighed and slowly got out of my bed. I walked into my bathroom, taking a quick 7 minute shower. I got out and brushed my teeth. Then, I quickly changed into my clothes: long, black jeans; black converse hightops; and a black, long-sleeved shirt. I looked into the mirror and smiled slightly. I grabbed my brush and brushed my long, black, wavy hair.

A few minutes later, I got out and grabbed my black and white, skull backback and skull lunchbox. Yes, black is my favorite color, of course, you could probably already tell that. I walked downstairs only to accidently run into my 'mother'. My eyes widened. "You little!" She said, grabbing the collar of my shirt and pulling to up closer to her so I could look her in the eyes. Her cold, gray eyes looked into my lavender eyes. She glared at me. "Watch it. Do you want to die anytime soon?" She asked me. I slowly shook my head.

She smirked and threw me aside, making me slam into the wall next to me. I gasped in pain. She ignored me and walked off to her room, slamming her door behind me. I sighed and got back up, walking towards the front door and walking out. There the bus was, waiting for me as usual.

I sighed and walked up to it. "Hey.." I whispered to the bus driver, walking past her and everyone else who was staring at me. I sat in the back on the right side, putting on my earphones and turning on my ipod. The first song that came on was: High School Never Ends by Bowling For Soup. I lip synced the words to it. Suddenly, the bus came to a new stop. I paused the song and took out my earphones, confused.

Then, a guy with dark, messy, red hair walked on. He looked a bit older than me, but I could be wrong. He looked at the back and smiled slightly, walking over. He sat next to me and everyone stared (except the bus driver). "Hi." He said. "Hey..." I whispered back. He smiled and said, "My name is Alexander. Alex for short." I nodded slowly, sighing inwardly.

"M-My name is...L-Lolita..." I whispered again. He nodded, grinning. He noticed everyone staring and looked confused. "What?" He asked me. I just shook my head and got my backpack ready by putting my ipod and earphones in it. The bus stopped at the entrance to the high school and we were let out.

I waited until everyone was off and slowly walked off the bus. There, I went into the cafeteria to sit with my friends and wait for the bell to ring. I walked in slowly and found all my friends sitting at a table. I walked over to them, smiling slightly. "Hey guys..." I whispered. "Hey, Lolita!" My energetic best friend, Victoria, said. I smiled as I sat down right next to her. On my right side sat Katrina, one of my other close friends. Then, across from me sat Amber, Brittany, Laken, and Jessica.

Amber was so crazy and funny some times, but she could also get annoying... Brittany, her best friend and another one of my closet friends, was loud, funny, and sweet. She was new this year. Next to Brittany sat Laken. Laken didn't talk at all. It wasn't that she couldn't, she could. Katrina had Laken in Speech, so she knew that she could talk. Laken was just very shy. Shelby, who was in my Art class, said that while she was at the store, she saw Laken and her mother; Shelby said that Laken was apparently standing in the way of something and her mother hit her. So, now, a few people kept thinking that she was abused.

    I felt sorry for her...

Next to Laken sat Jessica. Jessica was also new this year, but she came in the first day of school unlike the 2 week like Brittany. Jessica and I just started talking and she sat down next to us and my other friends and we got to know each other. We found out that we had a lot in common and we became fast friends.

"Lolita! Hey!" Amber said in her usual hyper tone. I smiled at her softly and nodded. (That was my hi to her) She went back to talking to Brittany about the History homework that was due today. I sat down and chuckled softly at how Brittany started freaking out about how she didn't do her homework. I looked in front of me and saw that Laken was smiling and laughing a little too. I smiled; I loved it when she laughed; she was one of my closet friends and a lot of people made fun of her (and me...) about her being shy and not talking. She barely laughed.

Well, not really. She didn't really laugh the first few weeks of school, but as she became friends with us, she laughed at whatever we did. Especially at lunch. We were usually crazy when it came to lunch...

Anyway, as we started talking, the same guy (what was his name?) walked up to me and sat down next to us while Victoria was up going to the bathroom. "Hey!" He said, smiling at me. I blinked. Huh? Why was he talking to me?

I nodded to him, which only seemed to make him frown. I tilted my head to the side in confusion. "Why won't you talk?" He asked sadly. I just shrugged and looked behind him which made him do the same. Right behind him, Victoria was standing there tapping her foot impatienly, waiting for him to "Get the hell out of her seat" as she put it.

The guy (what was his name?!) smiled meekly at her before getting up and apologizing. Then, he walked away and sat back down with the 'popular' people. I rolled my eyes. Of course; the popular people would jump at the chance to get a new person to like them and 'join' them.

"Who was that?" Victoria asked while the others looked at me intently. I shrugged and opened up my bag, getting out my book called, The Sight. I started reading which was pretty hard when I felt all their eyes staring at me hardly. I sighed and put my bookmark in and closed my book, facing them all. I stared at them blankly, knowing that they wanted to know who that guy was.

"I don't know his name, but he is new I guess. He got on my bus and sat next to me, saying hi and all that. I guess I wasn't paying much attention to him so I can't remember half of what he said." I explained quietly, bored.

They nodded their heads and looked at him. "Well, he is pretty cute..." I heard Brittany say. I twitched slightly for some reason. I shrugged and said, "I guess... I didn't really notice." I opened my book back up and started to read, ignoring all the hard stares I was receiving.

A few minutes later of me reading the same sentence over and over, the bell rang. Thank God... I thought, putting my book back into my bag and standing up. My friends and I started walking down the hall to go to our classes. But, Victoria had to go to Volleyball, so she said goodbye and went off to the gym.

Katrina's class came by and she said bye to us, walking into her class room. Pretty soon, all my friends had gone to their classes while I was still walking all the way down the hall to get to mine. Finally, I reached the room, being greeted by my math teacher, Mrs. Parit.

I saw almost everyone there sitting wherever they wanted and saw a row that had no one in it. I sat at the back table on the row and took my binder out of my backpack, setting my binder on my desk and picking up my lunchbox and backpack and putting them in the back of the room like everyone else.

I looked at the side board to my left and read the intstructions. They read:
    1. Get out peice of paper and title it: Order of Operations
    2. Place homework in the tray.
    3. Go to page 542 and do problems: 1-45 all and 50-54 all

Order of operations? Why? Didn't we already do this?

    Maybe it was a review...

I flipped to the page and started doing the problems.
    9/3x4( 10-8 )+16.... easy. That is 40.
I checked my work and I was right.

I quickly finished half of the problems when our teacher came in the room with him. "Hello class. You are all working very hard. Good job! Now, I would like to introduce you to Alexander!" Alexander! That was his name! I thought. "Well, Alexander, it seems that all the other seats are taken so you can just go sit down in front next to Lolita. Lolita, that won't be a problem, will it?" Our teacher asked.

Of course it will! I want to sit alone!

I shook my head, no, that it wouldn't be a problem. Lieing much? He walked over to me happily and said, "Guess you and I have the same first period together, cool!" He sat down next to me and I sighed inwardly.

This is going to be a long period...
