• Trinity came to join us for lunch, I noticed he looked worried. “Hey Trin what’s wrong?” I asked him scooting over giving him room to sit.
“Oh uh I just met our school nurse,” he answered rubbing the bridge of his nose with his index finger and thumb.
“And what’s he like?” Kuro took another mouth full of his Obi fruit.
“Ah, I don’t know why, he scares me, I mean really scares me,” he let out a shaking breath. Wow who ever this nurse guy is he must be pretty creepy.
“Where is he?” I asked him taking a bite out of my own food.
“He’s with Eric now, in his classroom,” Trinity fixed his glasses.
    “Eric? Who’s that?”
“Um he’s our English teacher,” Trinity answered as if it were obvious. Wow, wait a second since when is a student ever on a first name basis with a teacher?
“Isn’t that his first name?” thank you Riely for asking.
“Well yes,” Trinity was acting like this was no big deal, but he was calling a teacher by his first name, weird.
I took another bite of my food, chewed it and swallowed. “Well as long as you don’t get sick you don’t have to worry about him,” I told him. How scary could a school nurse be? They are supposed to be plump ladies who will smile at you event though you puke all over her shoes.
We finished our food, cleaned up, and headed to our next class. This class was health, and the teacher was Dr. Itja (ITA ). We took our seats in the class, and in walked Dr. Itja, or with the expression on Trinity’s I should say Nurse Itja. Trinity immediately tried to get as far away from the nurse as he could, but, “Mr. Tsukihiro please stay in your seat,” Nurse Itja ordered him.
Trinity stopped dead where he was and sat slowly back into his seat, without taking his eyes off of the nurse.
I guess I couldn’t blame Trinity for being scared of the guy, he was tall, pale and skinny with knee length green hair that was braided. He also had these piercing purple eyes that gave even me the shivers.
The nurse smiled and introduced himself, he was actually quite friendly but at the same time he didn’t seem the friendly type to me or to the others. Jodi picked up the guy behind the mask and decided to join us, he even took a seat next to me. I didn’t care, I don’t blame him, this guy was probably the most dangerous guy at the school.
None of us took our eyes off the nurse the whole class. When the bell finally rang Nurse Itja called on Trinity to stay behind. “I don’t think so,” I grabbed fro Trinity’s arm, I wasn’t gonna let Trinity be alone with this guy.
“Excuse me?” Itja was pretty good acting like the nice guy.
“You may fool the principal and everybody else but we have nailed for what you really are,” I stood in front of Trinity and the other boys joined in right behind me. They all looked just as serious as me.
“And that would be what Mr. Doyle?” he leaned back in his desk chair with his elbows resting on the chair arms and his hands hold together at his chest. He was smiling at me like he knew everything and I knew nothing. He couldn’t be more wrong, I may not know everything but I did know that I need to watch my back around this guy.
    “I don’t know yet but….”
He cut me off, “So then you don’t have me ‘nailed down’ now do you?”
Ok I now know the first teaching I’m gonna hit. “Yeah well we will all be transferring out of your class.”
“I’ll make the request myself if you’d like,” he swirled around his chair to open a desk drawer and pulled out five pieces of paper. His smiled changed to a “I got you now” smile.
But I just smiled a “Go right ahead I dare you” smile. This made him frown and then I saw it, anger, growing behind that perfect mask of his. He reluctantly filled out the five papers and put them on top of a pile of other papers on his desk. Wait five? I turned around and Jodi was still here, hmm oh well the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
“I will get these to the vice principal by the end of the day,” he sighed and waved us out of the classroom.
“So how are we supposed to graduate without health class?” Jodi sarcastically asked me as we left the class.
He had a point we needed health to graduate and Nurse Itja was the only health teacher in the school. Oh well, we can deal with that problem when it comes, but right now I am glad to get out of there.
We got to our next class, art, as quickly as we could. We sat in the back talking about the nurse and why he was hired. We scribbled some deformed pictures on a piece of paper to how that we did do some work in class. I was worried the teacher would fail us because of the lack of effort, but the teacher praised us and hung our doodles up in the class.
Our last class of the day was math. This time our teacher assigned us seats. The only people sitting next to each other were Riely and Jodi. That was probably the most boring class we had, and yes I am including history.
The bell rang sending us to dinner. We ate silently when we noticed the nurse enter. Trinity reflexively scooted closer to me. “‘ey don’t worry I won’t let touch you promise,” I tried to offer him a confident smile; it seems he took it as one and smiled back. I turned my attention back to the nurse and noticed he was staring at us wearing his smile. Itja waved at us as if we were old friends, old friends, right.
Kuro decided to play along and waved back. Jodi joined us, sitting next to Riely. “Cool another one of us, ay Jodi?” Kuro asked him as friendly as he could.
Jodi swallowed his bite of food, “Only because my roommates are even more intolerable.”
This guy was gonna get it one of these days.
