• Trinity made a facial expression like she had just been hit with a brick. "Wha-what?!" she stuttered.

Okaaay...she wasn't as happy about that as I thought she'd be thought Doyle. "Look..." he started as he pulled her aside from Andy and Yulie, "Me and you have something in common,"

    "Wh-what's that?" she asked shakily.

Doyle sighed and sat down on the edge of the sidewalk. He ran a hand down his face and stared into the distance, "Well it's not exactly a happy memory, but my dad abbandoned me before I was born so my mom married my step-dad. I hated him, he abused me and my mom didn't give a damn," Trinity sat next to him and looked upon him in sympathy. "When my powers sprouted up...like around your age, how old are you?"

    "Thirteen" replied Trinity.

"Yeah sometime around there," Doyle continued "Any way one night he gave me a really harsh beating and I lost a lot of blood. So that night I snuck into my parents' room and started sucking his. My mom walked in on me and kicked me out. Been on my own ever since"

Trinity's jaw dropped. That was the most tragic story she had ever heard.

Doyle looked at her and smiled a bit. "I don't want you to have to go it alone. I got into a sh*t load of trouble trying to figure my powers out and it's not fair for me to let the same thing happen to you." Trinity smiled as he put his right arm over her shoulder...and then she noticed the birthmark.

"Hey! I have that same birthmark!" she exclaimed, pulling her sleve back on her right wrist. "Does it mean 'vampire' or something?"

"Well different vampires have different marks that describe their powers. Most have marks for strength or speed- a star and a lion shape or a star and a wind symbol. And if they're lucky some even have one for fire- a star and a flame."

Trinity glanced at Andy's wrist, "What's her's mean?"

"See, her powers are extra-strong. She can control any living thing"

Trinity's eyes grew wider than ever. "REALLY?!" Doyle just nodded and laughed. "Well, what can we do?"

"We have the rarest power. We're special."

    "But what can we do?"

"We can control energy...and drain it out of living things"

"COOL!" yelled Trinity with a huge smile which exposed her fangs. She immediately remembered and tried to cover her mouth with her hand but ended up cutting a finger on one of them.

"There's an easy trick to hide those but I'll show you later. Let's go back to Andy and Yulie and get moving" laughed Doyle.

Trinity nodded and headed toward the group. "Everything set?" asked Andy.

Doyle nodded and the four headed for his car. It was only yards infront of them before a tall figure in a treanch-coat with a scarf covering most of his face. There was a small piece of skin exposed on his neck. A birth mark in the shape of a sowrd. He stopped in front of them. Not good.

Trinity spun around at the other three. They looked more savage than before. Their eyes had a preditory hint of silver in them and their fangs were fully exposed. They stood in positions meaning they were ready to fight. What was happening?

The tall figure spoke "Yulie. Yulie Dagger"

Yulie glared at him. "Who wants to know?" he hissed

The tall figure reached into the pocket of his treanch-coat and took out something that looked like a knife, only instead of a silver blade it was all wood. "Your maker..." he responded. And then, he attacked them. Yulie and Andy hissed as they dodged his swings of the knife and tried to strike blows to him.

Doyle grabbed Trinity by the wrist and ran behind a dumpster. "Stay here!" he ordered.

Trinity was shaking in fear. "What's going on?!" she sreiked.

Doyle glanced back at the action. The figure had taken the knife and made a quick slash across Andy's arm that tore through her sleeve. The pink material on her sleeve was now dark red. Doyle snarled and charged at the figure, striking it in the face as Trinity watched from the dumpster. Why couldn't she control her powers?! Why did she have to be so useless?! Now of all times! She watched as Doyle grabbed hold of the figures arm. Something like a blue aura circulated around the two of them. The figure looked like he was growing weaker and weaker as Doyle looked like he was growing stronger.

Finally, the figure was pale and unmoving as Doyle dropped it flat on the ground with a thud. He fell on his knees in exhaustion. Trinity ran up to him. "Oh my God! Are you okay?!"

Doyle took a couple of deep breaths, "Yeah, just a bit winded. Happens every time. I'll be back to normal in a sec," He looked up at Andy who was clutching her arm with a grimace, "Andy!" he ran over to her. "How bad is it?!" he asked Yulie.

"N-not very." answered Andy, trying her best to smile. Doyle removed her hand covering the scar and gasped at it.

"That's nearly all the way to the bone!" he screamed. "C'mon, we're taking you to the hospital" he panted.

"And telling them what?! That I got this from a vampire-hunter attack?! No way!"

Trinity's jaw dropped wider. "Vampire hunters?! Y-you mean they're real"

Yulie nodded "As real as vamps. That's what that dagger mark means. They kill us and if we try to drink their blood we're poisoned."

Trinity looked down at the hunter in the treanch coat on the ground. "Is that one..."

    Yulie nodded again "Dead? Yes."
