• The acid began to fall as if nothing in the world existed, those alive knew to stay out of the dangerous weather. Few existed as just humans anymore, everyone else had been torn and warped, it didn't matter what you were all that mattered now is what you are.

A cave in what used to be Europe sheltered those smart enough to hide, but something far off in the distance writhed in the rain as it burned into its flesh. The putrid smell carried on the small breeze that wafted in the sky, the world is truly a wretched place.

The rain began to slow as someone in the cave lurched forward to the singed area of the outside world, a man walks out of the cave and straightens his back. With gray hair and blue eyes, he looks more human than mutant. A single bolt of lightening comes from the sky as he launches himself forward to grab it, the electric energy surges throughout his body as he throws it like a baseball into a ruined building. The ruins erupt in light as the bolt sticks to the wall, a scream of pain rattles into the air, he is not alone.

"s**t," he mutters. "Ravens," he says.

A rather ugly looking black mass assumes its place just above the man on top of a pile of rubble. A second dives through the sky at the man attempting to tear his head off, it lunges downward trying to rip him open.

"Raykon, you've no idea how long I've been waiting for this," one says.

"Wait longer," another voice sounds out.

A cloaked figure appears from the sky, ice blade in hand, and launches the weapon into the black beast. Shrieking from pain it dives for the figure, but it dodges and a new ice blade appears in its grasp, slicing down it cuts off the leaders head, feathers fly as its followers open their huge wings to escape.

    "Raykon, right?" The figure asks.

"Whats it to you?" He says coldly.

"My names Sera," it says. It then removes its cloak to reveal blue hair and grey eyes. "And this is, come here, is Geo," she said motioning to a little girl. She too removed her hooded cloak to show brown hair and soft blue eyes, but she wouldn't look him in the eye.

"What of it?" He said coldly.

"Do you stay near here for the nights?" She asked.

"Yes, this is my territory," he said.

"Could we stay with you? i mean just for tonight we haven't slept in days, with the acid falling we can move about freely. Can we stay?" She pleaded.

"How can you walk in the rain, does it not burn your skin?"

"Not with Geo, she's sort of like a healing barrier for us," she said looking at the girl.

"Nii-san," the girl looked at Sera tiredly.

"You can stay," he said sighing.

"Thank you," Sera said. "come on Geo, lets go," she motioned for the girl to follow.

Following behind Geo stooped low to examine the writhing creature who had been stuck in the rain, its shaking form looked close to death. Geo stroked the creature gently before getting up and walking away, following after Sera and Raykon.

The creature's fur began to lighten and the filth came off of it, pain no longer stung its system, its teeth no longer sharp grew smaller and flat. It now resembled a squirrel over most animals known today, this animal existed before The Attempt. Getting up it scurried off in search for nuts, something it wouldn't find.
