• I awoke with the load roar of my target, "It must be close", I whispered to myself. Throughout the three days of camping I had heard it getting closer, but I had never heard it this close. It was almost as if it was on top of me. I quickly looked up just in time to see two small puffs of snow on the edge of the cliff. Flecks of snow rained down on my face but I didn't brush them away. He was here. I grabbed my sword next to my makeshift bed and checked the blade. It was as sharp as it was ever going to get, so I, checking to see he was not attacking, strapped on my breastplate. Once it was secure I also put on my leggings, but before I had a chance to strap them on I heard a growl from behind me. I quickly spun round to face my adversary and drew my sword, but too late it had disappeared. It was toying with me and I new that I would never catch it if it carried on. I rummaged through my rucksack and found what I was looking for. I placed it on the floor beside my foot and continued with me leggings. Just as I had them strapped on, I heard small thumps behind me. It was there, trying to sneak up on my camp. Trying to look like I was still strapping on my leggings, I lifted my leg so that it was directly above the object on the floor. I stamped on it and covered my eyes. There was a small explosion and frustrated howl from behind me. I turned and saw the Tigrex for the first time. It was clawing at the air as if it expected to hit whatever blinded it. The flash bomb had worked but it would not last long. I drew my sword and, swinging round, struck the beast on it's head. What happened next, no one could have expected. My sword rebounded off the impenetrable scales on it's head and it also snapped the creature out of it's confusion. It struck out with it's tail, sending me flying through the air. I landed on the edge of the cliff we were on and tried to get up. The Tigrex, however, had other plans he scratched me with his claw and the force of this strike sent me tumbling down into the abyss.
