• Vampirates, Chapter 1, Part 1:

The mist from the sea had drifted onto the ships deck. Everything was covored in a dense white being. Elizabith couldn't see two inches in front of her face. 'How on earth was she supposed to find him in this!?' she thought.
"Is there a problem little lady?" Capitian Johnathan asked her as she was looking under the stairs. She turned to face him. She knew it was rude not to talk to someones face.
"I'm trying to find Matthew." she said looking around the fog was so dense that all she could see was the capitian's big bushy beard. "I haven't been able to find him anywhere."
The capitian smiled and knelt down to her and patted her on the head. " I shouldn't tell you this but, I thought I saw a small figure climb up to the crows nest just a moment ago." He said. Elizabiths eyes lit up.
"Thanks Capitian." she did a small curtsie and scurried off to the ropes that went up to the crows nest. He bowed in return and went off talking to the helmsman.
"MATTHEW GET DOWN HERE" Elizabith yelled up. He knew her too well. She hated hights more than anything.
"There is no matthew up here" a faint voice called down. Matthew, of course was faking this voice, Elizabith could tell.
"FINE!" she called out. "I'M DONE WITH THIS GAME ANYWAYS." then she turned and walked slowly away.
"No!" Matthew called from the ropes. He was climbing down! "Elizabith, I'm coming down see." She smiled and kept walking. "Elizabith" he was all the way down now. He ran in front of her to stop her. "Why do you have to be like that?" his hair was wet with water from the mist. His eye's look like they were popping out of his head from exaustion.
"You're not very good at hide and seek, are you? You're supposed to hide until I find you. Oh well, I found you!" Elizabith giggled. Matthew gasped with surprise and anger.
"That's unfair Elizabith, you cheated." he howeld at her.
"I cheated you're the one who went up there" She pointed to the crows nest. "Besides you're the one who came down on your own free will." She turned from him arms crossed and stubborn face on.
Matthew sighed with defeat, he knew he wasn't going to win this. "Fine let's play a game of 'Do you see what I see.' "
Elizabith agreed. "Fine you go first"
Matthew nodded and looked around and said "I see something black and red and it's really big." He smiled and looked at Elizabith.
She looked around, nothing on the ship or in the ocean fit the description. "What are you talking about there's nothing here that looks like that." Matthew simply pointed out into open ocean.
Elizabith stared for about five minutes and then she saw it. It was an old ship black in color and red smears all over. She didn't want to know where they came from. The flag was black with a blood red skull and cross bones.
"What do you kiddies see that's so interesting?" The capitian asked popping up behind them.
Matthew pointed out into the ocean and said. "What ship is that?" The capitian looked up and saw the ship. His face grew ghostly pale.
