• Age - 8

Daniel ran, his nightmares following him. Run, doesn't matter where, just run. He saw the dark cloaked figure beside him. "Daniel, stop running, it's useless." It just gave Daniel a burst of speed. He jumped over a fallen log and almost tripped. The hands were then around his waist, lifting him into the air. Dan's eyes widened and he began kicking. "Let . . . me . . . go!" He grunted and heard the man speak.
"Daniel, it's been six and a half years, why do you start running now?"
    "Because of-"
Suddenly a screech came through the air.
"-THAT!" He yelled, and was dropped.
    "C'mon!" Yelled the man.
Daniel began running again, this time with the two men, Jacob and Robert, following him.
"I thought that thing was sealed!"
"So did I, but apparently not!" Dan jumped over another fallen log. A loud stomp made him turn around. There was Robert, crunched over the things foot. Dan started towards him.
    "Don't worry about me! Go!"
Dan closed his eyes and ran. Jacob was gone, it was only him.
    And his worst nightmare.

Dan didn't know what happened that night. Somewhere between running, screaming, and falling, he passed out.

As his eyes slowly opened, he heard the bush beside him move. "What's this we found?"
A young girl pushed through the bush. "Who are you?"

Dan hadn't answered. He tried to get up again. The girl pushed him down. "Nuh-uh. Stay down." She put her hand on his chest. "You're cold." A large dog ran into the little space. It growled. "Everything's alright. This boy wasn't trying to take your pups." The dog ran off.

That's when Dan passed back into blackness.
