• Before I knew it Kristie was also egging me on. I laughed and nodded my ok. I closed my eyes and began moving to the music. Up down around and every where in between. I couldn't see anyone anymore I never really could when I danced. I remember spinning on my head for them, bending backwards plenty, and dropping it like it's hot. It felt so good to do one of the things I loved around people that really didn't understand me. I can't really explain the feeling, like my own piece of heaven I guess. The song ended and there was applause. I realized that everyone had stopped dancing just to watch me.
I felt my face turn red but ignored it, the harsh lighting helped hide it. Ian looked at me an expression of awe on his face. We sat down and he brought me a drink. We began talking. It felt so great to talk to him, about things other then the team. I never had the guts to actually talk to him before. We learned so much about each other in just an hour. He got to know a side of me that I showed no one. Kristie knew I loved to dance and a few other things, but all of a sudden I found myself telling Ian things like how when I was little all I ever wanted was to be like Britney Spears (before the melt down) and how I could never decide which I preferred football or Dancing.
"Oh so you like football," he looked at me shocked.
"Yeah, what does that surprise you."
"Well truthfully yeah, I've only ever met one girl who likes football she's actually on the team she's really good, basically one of the guys." My eyes teared up a bit, one of the guys. Ironically or maybe not ironic but just at that moment that very Katy Perry song began playing. I almost laughed.
"You know just cause a girl likes football and can play, doesn't mean that defines them."
"Sorry I didn't mean to offend you or anything Kc though that's all she ever talks about well with me anyway I always wonder if she has anything else under those dark shining eyes," he said as if recalling a memory. Kristie came over to me.
"My mom's here." I got up and said my goodbye. I couldn't help myself half way through the dance floor I looked back at him. Maya had told him how she was looking for him everywhere and then plopped herself down on his lap. So much for that I thought.
