• Chapter ~Four~ Undeniable Questions.

I woke up not completely sure of my location. After thoughtless seconds of chirping birds, I rose up so fast, I couldn't see for the next twenty seconds.
I half-blidly waddled up to the mirror and put my hand on it, when I could see past my morning vision, I was shocked to see no hand. I stared at the mirror for a minute, then started calling out Demetri's name. After this had no effect,
I began lightly pounding my hands on the mirror. Within seconds, it shattered.
I could hardly believe it, Demetri, gone. I wanted to go back, and try to walk through the mirror, why didn't I do that earlier!? I could've met him in person for once, but now I can't see him at all!
I looked at all the shattered glass on the ground, then back up at the golden frame. 'Well...' I thought, putting a foot through the frame...
I couldn't see after that, did it work? I turned around, or at least I thought I did, and there was my room. Visible only through the frame. I decided to stumble on, looking for Demetri. I walked forever, but getting no farther, as the frame got no smaller. After a while, I began to see more. I began running towards the scene. It got brighter and brighter, and I didn't care about the scene I was leaving behind.
I looked around at what appeared to be a door to an old rickety house, surrounded by the void I was just in. I figured this is where Demetri spent his time, as there was nothing else around. I continued to proceed until I reached the door, and carefully stepped inside. I heard people talking and immediatley recognized Demetri's voice and ran towards the source, disregarding the other voice and whom it might belong to. I ran right into room after room, finally finding Demetri's back to my face. There was a woman, almost identical to him, standing right across the room, looking very angered.
Demetri turned and looked at me for what felt like hours and then finally adressing my presence said, "How did you get here...." I stoped to explain everything I'd found in the bag and everything I'd done since that night. He looked at me like I was eating children. I stopped before telling him I found the house and said, "Are you...Okay?" He only looked at me, then as if deciding something, picked me up, and ran. Too shocked to understand anything, I had no response. When the world finally settled and I could stand without his help, I said slightly dizzy, "What the heck is going on...?" I only looked at Demetri weaving back and forth, until I could finally process what he'd just said, "We're going to have to change everything." I didn't understand. "Wha...?" He replied to my confusion, " Because we've been found out, we only have two choices. I have to change my identity and leave you, or I have to kill you now." I looked at him contemplating death over the other suggestion. "You said that those who regret too much or those that take their own lives are sentanced to a Reaper's fate, right?" I stumbled on every word, hardly getting all this out. He nodded. I said, "Then that's the best choice."
He only sighed, as if he'd understood. I began wondering if it would hurt to die. He looked at me, saddened by my decision. I looked back at him, detemined. He only said, "In killing you, you have to agree with me that you'll obey the rules of being a Reaper. You can't do this. I know you can't."
I only looked at him, balanced myself and said,"I can do it myself."
"Listen. I died for a similar reason to what you're thinking. Once you do this, there's no going back. You're dead. There's no communtication allowed with people until you've commited to killing. All you can do is kill and wander. You may not even end up were I am."
"I don't care." Was my response. "I'm ready".
