• The sky was a black velvet blanket over the evergreen forest. The stars twinkled and sparked here and there against the vast, black sky. The forest trees swayed as the crisp, cold winds of Romanian air wisked throgh their branches. White covered the ground everywhere. It was the deep, chilling, snow that frosted the needles of the pine trees, that layed on the coats of the daring animals that wondered outside on this night. A sudden, loud and peircing sound cracked the silence. A wolf's howl rung through the air, stopping the breath of any living creature that walked through the darkness. The wolf's cry carried on and on for everlasting moments, calling to the others. For the wolf had found it's kill. A feast for the pack it needed to support, for the winter's of Romania are not something of comfort. The wolf ceased the call and shook it's dark coat of snow that had laid there. Then, as the wolf carried on it's routine, the horizon was bathed in light. The sun rose slowly, washing the dark shadows of night away and bringing forth a new day.
