    "Kinesis"
    Chapter 2
    - Budouka Style -

"H-holy c-crap," K-7 stuttered, stricken by fear at Jikan lazily staring at him. There was nothing he could do: game over. No energy to run, no energy to fight, and it wouldn't have made a difference if he could fight or run, as Jikan has him outclassed by about forty something years or so. K-7 was now in what the academy calls 'Energy Debt,' a state where a Martial Artist has used energy that he or she currently does not have, forcing them to dig deep into the energy reserves found in their Spirit. When too much is used, they're put into Energy Debt, and are forced to recuperate over a period of time, depending on how much energy they borrowed.

And K-7 borrowed it all. There was nothing he could do now except wait for Jikan to stop staring and do whatever he pleased. K-7's breath only slightly regulated due to the cold balancing out his sweat and rising body temperature. It was now that K-7 was able to get a good look at Jikan. A small tuft of hair sat on his chin, and his eyes were a dark green. He had extremely messy dark brown hair, and he was dressed for inside, not outside. Blue jeans cut at the knees followed by a black, short sleeved shirt. And to top it all off, a blank, uncaring stare.

"Eh?" Jikan turned his glanced away and snapped his neck to the left. Then towards the ground. Then he spun around counter clockwise and locked his gaze at the ground. It was all snow! High snow at that, and there was nothing out of the ordinary. That's when they both heard a howling in the snow.

"Budouka Style! Snow Leopard's Fist!" two hands reached from under the snow behind Jikan and clasped his ankles! With his ankles in submission, the two hands gripped tightly and forced heavy vibrations into his leg. "Gah!" Jikan yelled as he fell forward into the snow, unable to stop his fall. The hands pulled themselves underground for a few seconds, and then an entire bodied boy leaped up from the snow.

"Yo, jaka," he said, winking at K-7. He wore the same Atsui Jaketto jacket as K-7, except this was the specialize Samui Jaketto, which was all white instead of all black, and had the symbol for 'Freeze' on the back instead of 'Heat'. Long, spiked black hair descended down to his middle back, and he had large, obscuring bangs over his face.

"So, you comin' or what, jaka?" he yelled to K-7.
    "Uh?" K-7 responded.
"Dude, hurry it up! That technique will only paralyze your average person for a few minutes," he walked towards K-7. "And Jikan will break out faster than that!"
"Look, I'm sorry, I can't! I have no energy whatsoever, and who are you?!" K-7 rebutted.
"The names Leon Mane, jaka, and you?"
    "K-7, a no-name." K-7 grew cold.
"... well, seeing how you're out at this time, you probably moved the pen too," he said over the howling snow. K-7 looked up, eyes widened. "If that's the truth, then you're gonna need to get a move on! Here."

Leon leaped, almost like a leopard, towards Jikan as he lay unable to move on the ground. Leon pulled at the pack on Jikan's belt, fiddling with it, and exclaimed, "I knew it!" He held a small water capsule in between his fingers. "Here, take this," he said, flinging it to K-7. "Huh?" K-7 said as he barely caught the capsule. "Swallow it," Leon laughed. "It's a safety measure for energy debt, which you appear to be in. Only staff and teachers get these."

K-7 swallowed it. And felt amazing only a second later. Suddenly, all of his senses rose to great heights, his muscles and lungs felt great, and his mind was clear. He laughed in excitement and ran past Leon towards the Nazukke Building past the mountains. "Well come on!" he joked back towards Leon. Leon chuckled and hurried along with him. They ran as hard as they could, and at the same time, bursted in high speed with the Kurohaya Technique, clocking speeds of more than 50 miles per hour as they raced towards the mountains.

"Look, K," Leon said as they sprinted. "It won't be long before Jikan is awake, and he WILL catch up to us!"
"That's fine by me!" K-7 laughed. "I can take him, I know it!"
"Don't get cocky! That pill didn't make you stronger, it just restored all of your lost energy! He's still too strong for even both of us!"
"No matter!" K-7 was in the zone. He was excited.

"What's that about being able to take me?" SLAM! A fist reared right into K-7's face, flinging him from his running 6 feet towards the mountains.
"Ack, K!" Leon yelled as he skid to a stop. Jikan caught up to them, and had made his presence known. K-7 weakly got up, rubbing his bloody cheek. "(What a punch!)," he thought to himself. His resolve did not damper, though. He truly felt he could take him. Leon stood, glancing back and forth at K-7 and Jikan.

    "K, you alright man?!"
"Yeah, Yeah, I'm fine," he said, dusting the snow off of him.
"You two are in a hell's worth of trouble," Jikan thundered with the angriest expression anyone had ever seen on his face. "First you sneak out, and then you attack a staff member. And after all of that, you swipe my GenCapsule and try to flare outta my sight. I'd advise you two to come back with me; it's late."

K-7 and Leon looked at each other. Jikan looked at both of them, waiting for their answer, even though he intended on taking them regardless.

"Unless, of course," Jikan spoke again. "You want to fight me." There was a sense of joking in his voice, though it was very subtle. The two boys stared at each other, almost communicating through their eyes. They were nervous, they were breathing slightly hard, and their eyes were widened in anxiousness. They had to do something, because they were NOT going back to the Academy. They had to find out what was going on. They both knew that if they defeated Jikan and arrived at Room 337, then they could plead their case of being interrupted. It probably wouldn't work as they assualted a staff worker, but they still had a chance.

Enough thought has been done, it's time to fight. "HAA!" K-7 leaped towards Jikan with an outstretched leg aimed at his head. Jikan grabbed his leg, swung him upwards, and slammed him heavily onto the ground. K-7 reacted by clasping Jikan's ankles with his two legs and twisted his hips, forcing Jikan to drop into the snow as well. Leon broke out of his frozen state and front flipped onto Jikan's back with a Heavy Axe Kick. Jikan recovered instantly by kipping up, landing on his feet, pulling both arms to his chest and finishing off by extending them frighteningly fast towards the two boys. A great wind pressure formed from his arms and sent the two boys flying. K-7 and Leon recovered by back flipping and landing on their hands, into a back handspring, and bursted forward at Jikan at the same time on two opposing directions. K-7's leg and Leon's fist loaded internal energy as they leaped towards Jikan and slammed into him! But, ah! Jikan guarded both attacks in a semi-crouched position, grabbing their limbs and swinging them around 360 degrees before letting go and throwing them both.

"The two of you should just quit right now," he coldly stated.

"Grr..." K-7 growled as he stood up from being thrown again. "Ouch," Leon brushed his hair as he recovered as well. Leon turned to K-7, "Yo, K, this is a losing battle, man. What were we thinking?"
"... we can still do this."
"How?! He's playing with us! No matter what we do, he just grabs us and throws us!"

That's when it hit him. Jikan was the grappling master of the Shin'yama Academy, but he was a poor stand up fighter. When allowed to grab, throw, and submit enemies through choke holds and locks, he was king. But when it came to kicks, punches, and other stand up qualities, he could only guard. What would happen if they could limit his grappling abilities? K-7 thought heavily on this. Everyone knows that you can't grapple against two people, as while you're on the ground trapping one enemy, the other one can defeat you because he's free!

"... okay, I've got a plan, it's a bit crazy, but it's a plan." K-7 laughed as he looked at Leon.
"Now we're talkin'!" Leon raised his fist and clenched it. Jikan looked at the two with the same unmoving face. "Yo, Jikan!" Leon yelled. Jikan looked towards him, agitated. "Can you give us a few minutes to talk over this plan of ours?"
"Sure, only 2 minutes though." Jikan said with that subtle joking of his. Leon and K-7 walked towards each other, away from Jikan, glancing back at him occasionally to see if he would rush at them. He never moved.
"Okay, here's the plan," K-7 said. "We're going to take advantage of his poor stand up fighting skills. He's an amazing grappler, but can't throw a proper kick to save his life, and it's only because he's studied the arts of grappling more than anything else. If he was serious he would have submitted both of us by now, but he's having fun with this. It's also possible that he wants us to suffer a bit for humiliating him."
"Right, right," Leon said. "So what's the actual plan?"
"Before I tell you that, answer something for me: you're from the other side of the school, right? The 7 Point Animal Stylists?"
"Yeah, Leopard Stylist." Leon proudly stated.
"You Leopard Stylists specialize in paralysis with your internal claw strikes and locks, and I finally got to see it in real-life action when you paralyzed Jikan back there."
    "Yeah...?" Leon curiously responded.
"Tell me this, and PLEASE say yes: can you paralyze an enemy for much longer than you did back there?"

"Of course!" Leon yelled. They both turned at Jikan to see if he heard them. "One minute left, boys," Jikan said, tapping his foot. Leon continued, "The only problem is it takes a while to charge up. I haven't mastered full paralysis yet, and the only way I can do it is by making full contact with the enemy's spine region."
"That's fine by me," K-7 said. "Here's the plan: you charge the strongest, most paralyzing technique in your arsenal, and I'll fight Jikan on my own. Sooner or later, I'll set up an opening where he can put me in a position where his back his open and he has me in a full lock. He'll be too busy holding me to see you come up behind him and finish him off!"
"Perfect! But how long do you plan on fighting him? The trip past that mountain is another 20 minutes, even with the Kurohaya Technique we're running out of time; it's already 11:02 p.m.!"
"It's a risk I'll have to take. The Full Nelson is a position taught in grappling class where the enemy grabs you from under your armpits and locks their arm over your should, forcing their weight on you and halting any movement. I'll make sure he gets me in this position, and that's when you-"

"Time's up." Jikan gave no warning and leaped towards Leon and grabbed his neck, slamming him into the ground. Leon recovered as Jikan moved towards K-7. "Remember the plan, Leon! Start now!"

"Right!" Leon began focusing all of his internal energy to his right palm. He was still new to the art of Energy Manipulation, and it would take a bit of time. 40 seconds at least, and K-7 couldn't handle 10 seconds on his own.

"Ack, agh, gahh!!" the screams from K-7 reverberated through the air as Jikan locked his arms behind him, bringing him to the point of breaking, and then toying with him by swinging him in the air and slamming him brutally onto the ground. Just as Jikan reached for K-7's arms again, he kipped up and kneed Jikan in the stomach. In the split second Jikan recoiled, K-7 quickly used a fast spinning hook kick, the velocity propelling the heel of his right foot into Jikan's left temple, sending him flying. But K-7 continued the combination technique, it'd be over if he stopped now! As Jikan flew, falling, K-7 used the Kurohaya to catch up and forced internal energy into his legs. K-7 shot off a double side kick combination, shooting Jikan higher into the air. Focusing the energy into his legs once more, he leaped high into the air, clasped his hands together, and hammer-fisted Jikan towards the ground! Jikan crashed hard onto the earth, blowing the snow off in every direction, and slightly bounced from the impact of the attack. As K-7 descended back towards the ground, he spun dozens of times in the air, picking up heavy velocity, and ended the spinning by sticking his leg out in Side Thrust Kick position and ended his descent by crashing into Jikan's stomach with a powerful roar, "Budouka Style: Heaven's Descent!" the crushing blow of his technique crashed into Jikan's belly with unnatural velocity and force, causing a crater to form under his body! Jikan's eyes widened as his mouth gaped wide open, coughing small spurts of blood. Could the battle actually be over?

"Whoa," Leon said as he continued focusing energy.
"I... I think I overdid it," K-7 said. Jikan was out cold, and he wouldn't be awake for a while.

Wrong. Jikan flipped right and and sped towards K-7 in a ferocious rage. "You've crossed the line now!!" K-7 couldn't react, the Heaven's Descent technique lowered his reaction time. Just as Jikan was rearing to break every bone in his body, Leon appeared from above Jikan.

"Hey, loser!" he yelled. Jikan snapped his attention upward. "Budouka Style: Electric Fangs!" Leon raised his hands in a clawed position way over his head in a leopard's hunting position, and dove toward Jikan. Jikan couldn't react either.

"Take this!" Leon SLAMMED into Jikan's body and clawed deep into him! The electric shock of internal energy bolted through Jikan's body and sent him flying more than 10 feet. Now, he really couldn't move. "Let's go, now!" Leon urged as he ran towards the mountains. K-7 followed.

The two bursted through the Kurohaya Technique as hard as they could and crossed large amounts of land. It was 11:15 p.m. now, as they'd been running for a bit of time. There was only 15 minutes remaining, and the mountains were just ahead. As they approached the large, dark, and snowy mountains, they leaped with all they had onto the base of the mountain. As they focused internal energy to their hands, they continued to scale the mountain at a rapid pace, using their hands to pull and spring themselves upwards. It was when they reached the top of the mountain at 11:24 p.m. that they finally saw the Nazukke Building. It always looks so different in the snow, and it looked particularly different this time.

It was time to find Room 337 in 6 minutes.
